When She Started to be Herself
Chapter 1
I returned to my parents' home. My sister-in-law Lisa looked at the Louis Vuitton handbag I was carrying and asked, "Yasmin, this bag is a knockoff, right? How much did you pay for it?"
I said, "This is the Louis Vuitton I just bought. I spent thirty thousand dollars."
My brother Jack and his wife Lisa stared at me in disbelief. "What? Thirty thousand?"
Lisa's face turned cold. "It's not worth it!"
Jack looked at my mother angrily and said, "Mom, look at Yasmin. Our whole family is still living in one house, but she spent thirty thousand dollars on a bag."
My mother frowned. "Yasmin, why are you so immature!"
My dad yelled, "You're wasting money! Go back and return it now!"
In their imagination, I should have blushed and lowered my head, then went to the mall to return the bag.
But, they didn't know that I was reborn!
In my previous life, for the sake of my parents and my brother, I never got married. I bought them a house and a car, and covered the expenses of my nephew and niece. However, after they spent all my money, they kicked me out.
Eventually, I died of illness alone in my rental apartment. No one came to see me until my body started to stink and was discovered.
In this life, I wanted to live for myself!

I was reborn at the age of forty.
When I opened my eyes, I was lying in my small bedroom, and outside I could hear my nephew Liam and niece Luna crying and fighting over toys.
As I recalled, I bought this house with more than eight hundred thousand dollars. To show my filial piety, I registered the house under my parents' names.
I opened a beauty salon in my hometown and achieved some success in my career, with an annual income of four to five hundred thousand dollars, which was quite impressive in this small town.
But this amount of money was far from enough to satisfy my parents' appetite.
Jack had no job and played games at home every day. Lisa went shopping and playing all day, leaving both children to my parents.
Naturally, all the expenses of the whole family depended on me.
I had been in love several times, but when it came to getting married, my parents would obstruct me for various reasons. They would either demand a high price of engagement gift or be mean to the boy's family. As time went on, I still didn't get married until I was forty years old. I missed the best time, and the marriage was naturally shelved.
In my previous life, I thought they were all doing this for my own good, fearing that I would put my trust in the wrong person. Now I finally understood that they were just worried that after I got married, they would lose my money!
Outside my bedroom, Luna cried loudly because she didn't get the toy. Lisa said impatiently, "Silly girl, stop crying. Ask Aunt Yasmin to buy it for you later!"
I sneered secretly. Aunt Yasmin didn't want to be a fool anymore!
In my previous life, I always fulfilled Liam and Luna's requests. When Luna got married, I bought her a set of gold jewelry. After she got married, she said she wanted to start a business, so I gave her my beauty salon. When Liam got married, I gave him all my savings and also left him the house I bought for my parents. However, when I got old and sick, either of them came to see me.
So, I wouldn't spoil them anymore.
I looked at myself in the mirror. After all, I worked in the cosmetology business, so my skin was pretty good. As a forty-year-old woman, I looked like thirty years old. However, all my clothes were bought online. They were obviously cheap goods with no quality at all. And none of my bags or shoes were presentable.
I thought, "Now, right now! I'm going to love myself!"
After I changed my clothes and walked out of the room, Luna rushed over to me and hugged my legs. "Aunt Yasmin, take me to buy toys."
Liam also came to me and said, "Aunt Yasmin, I want to go too. I want the latest Ultraman."
