She chooses to move on, securing a scholarship to study abroad. But at the airport, Felix drops to one knee with her favorite lisianthus, begging her not to leave.

The Wedding’s Off—And I’m Finally the Main Character Chapter 1

My fiancé, Felix Thorn, is a renowned wedding planner.

We've been in love for five years, but on our wedding day, he changed the dress I had designed.

Felix gently kissed the corner of my eye, saying, "Rosa Radcliff, roses better represent love."

I picked up a pair of scissors and personally shredded that dress, announcing the end of the wedding right then and there.

Snow mountain roses are Gemma Pruitt's favorite flower; he was fulfilling a promise he made to her.

Dead people will always outshine the living. I've finally decided to give up.

On the day I got the opportunity to study abroad, Felix was at the airport, kneeling on one knee with my favorite lisianthus flowers in his hands.

"Rosa, please don't go."

"Rosa, let me explain."

As I looked at Felix, dressed in a white suit, ready to walk down the aisle with me, I felt nothing but a chill throughout my body.

For five years, he indulged me in everything, his emotions so stable that everyone envied our relationship.

Yet, today, on our wedding day, he secretly replaced the wedding dress I had designed.

The satin mermaid gown embroidered with lisianthus that I had created was nowhere to be seen.

The dress before me was covered in roses, only roses.

"Felix, where is my wedding dress?"

"Rosa, roses better represent love."

"This was made just for you, isn’t it beautiful?"

I nodded stiffly, "Beautiful."

"But this is not what I wanted."

"This is not my wedding dress."

I spoke each word clearly, quietly watching Felix’s reaction.

For a moment, he looked cold, then returned to his gentle demeanor, reaching out to stroke my hair.

"Rosa, I told you, this dress matches the venue better. I want to give you a perfect wedding."

I love Felix, so I know him well.

He blinks three times when he lies.

I avoided his touch.

"Felix, do you love me?"

He hesitated for a second, then kissed the corner of my eye, "Of course I do. That’s why I want to marry you."

"But I don’t like this dress. I want my dress."

He cupped the back of my head with his hand, staring into my eyes, "Rosa, trust me. Roses truly represent our love better. Let’s finish the ceremony first, and then I’ll commission a new dress for you."

In the past, I would have obediently nodded and compromised, but today, I don't want to do that anymore.

"Felix, you just blinked three times."

"Um? What?"

I pushed him away, grabbed a pair of scissors from the vanity, and started cutting into the dress.

"Felix, snow mountain roses are Gemma’s favorite."

Felix didn't expect me to destroy the dress. He frantically picked up the ruined gown from the floor, shouting, "Rosa! What are you doing? Today is our wedding!"

So he did know it was our wedding today.

"Felix, you know I hate snow mountain roses."

Tears welled up in my eyes, my heart feeling suffocated.

Felix didn't look at me; he only held the shredded dress tightly in his arms.

I should have realized it sooner. How can the living compete with the dead?

I pushed open the door to the dressing room, ran into the wedding hall, and took the microphone from the host.

"I'm sorry everyone, this wedding is canceled."

"Thank you for coming to Felix and my wedding, we appreciate your presence. Please enjoy the food and drinks."

Standing on the stage, all the lights focused on me in an instant.

In my dreams, my wedding was just like this, full of guests. I wore the dress I designed and married the only man I've ever loved. Unfortunately, now it's all ruined.

Ruined by me, ruined by Felix.

Ignoring the elders’ calls to stop me, I walked out of the wedding venue on my own.
