The Goodbye You Asked For

Kevin breathed a sigh of relief and carefully helped me up from the ground.

“Bad baby, you are making trouble for your mother as soon as you come, you annoying person. Wait until you come out and see how your father will deal with you. By the way, Maisie, do you like boys or girls? I hope it’s a girl and I hope she looks like you.”

I sat on the bench in the hospital and looked down at the color ultrasound report carefully.

In the black and white picture, there was a small circle the size of a peanut. The doctor said that it was my child.

I clicked on the picture that was sent together.

The little boy was sitting in a blue dining chair. Kevin was feeding him breakfast attentively, his eyes full of pampering and tenderness. The little boy was also laughing, his little mouth was full, looking very cute.
