Chapter 2

It was three months later that I saw Mylo again.

He returned home with his girlfriend, Della.

"Mon, come here and say hello to my future wife."

I almost froze in my stance, and my feet were so heavy that I couldn't take a single step forward.

Della came over and touched my head. "Are you Mon? Mylo has mentioned you before. He said you are very well-behaved!"

The words she mentioned were what I hate to hear.

As for the nickname Mon, only Mylo and his parents would call me that.

Apparently, he even told Della it.

The woman was gentle and kind, but I felt disgusted by her.

I told Mylo, "I don't like people touching my head."

However, he said, "Della is my future wife. What's wrong with patting you on the head? She is older than you, so you should respect her."

I asked unwillingly, "Mylo, did you deliberately find a woman to make me give up? You don't have to do this because I..."

Mylo glanced at me indifferently, his eyes full of mockery and disgust.

"Monica, don't think too much. I've been pursuing Della for a long time, and she agreed to me recently."

Feeling desperate, I even forgot what to say.

He raised the tablet in his hand, which showed luxurious jewels, each of which was worth a fortune.

"Della's birthday is in two days. Help me pick a gift for her."

I was helpless and couldn't choose.

The brand of jewelry was my favorite, but I never thought about owning it because it was very expensive.

Mylo put away his tablet. "Forget it. What do you know as a young girl? Jewelry like this should be paired with a feminine dress. Well, I should choose a dress for Della..."

That night, the dress and jewelry were delivered to the home.

Putting on a short skirt and a necklace with pigeon-blood ruby, Della danced with Mylo at home.

As the handsome man waltzed the beautiful woman around the room, my eyes turned red.

Mylo's gaze fell on Della's skin exposed outside her dress, while the latter giggled and punched his chest.

I understood everything when Mylo picked her up and went upstairs.

Not long after, their groans were heard.

I covered my face, and tears flowed through my fingers.

It was time to give up.

At twelve o'clock in the middle of the night, Mylo came back.

Many business partners came to today's engagement party, and he reeked of alcohol.

I tried to forget what happened during the day and handed him a cup of honey water to help him sober up.

"Mylo..."

He waved his hand and knocked over the honey water in my hand.

"How many times have I told you? I'm not a child, and I don't need this kind of water!

"Della has already given me hangover medicine, so you don't have to do it."

The glass rolled several times on the ground, and tears welled up in my reddened eyes.

Mylo had never treated me like this before.

The first time I prepared honey water for him, he felt heartache and praised me.

"Mon, you're awesome. You can take care of me. But next time, let others do this. I'm afraid you'll burn yourself."

Everything had changed after Della appeared.

He no longer cared about me, and his attitude towards me was cold as if I were a stranger.

He pursued Della attentively but hurt me pitilessly.

Today's event pierced my heart, just like a sharp sword.

Mylo pushed my shoulder away and walked towards his room. I stopped him and wanted to explain.

"Mylo, I have put away the love letter. I don't know why..."

He frowned and became even more impatient. "Don't mention it again. It makes me sick."

I couldn't believe what I heard.

It turned out that my love for him was disgusting.

Suddenly, Mylo raised his eyebrows with a faint smile on his lips.

"Yet, your love letter made Della laugh. Since she was so happy today, some credit must go to you."

After reading out my love letter in public, Della indeed laughed out loud.

She wiped the tears from her eyes and exclaimed, "Mylo, you are so charming that your fake niece is bewitched. She even said that she could defy the whole world for you and be with you no matter how others think!"

After she finished speaking, everyone present burst into laughter.

I was the only one standing there at a loss, blushing and feeling awkward.

I was very sure that the love letter had been hidden in the innermost part of the drawer.

But today, it was held in Della's hand.

It was obvious that she sneaked into my room, stole my letter, and exposed my privacy.

Mylo knew everything but still stood on her side.

Thinking of it, I forced a smile and made a final request to Mylo.

"Mylo, can you give me some money? I'm short of money."

I was going to Alsatan, but I also needed some money to support myself.

Everything I had was bought by Mylo over the years, and he rarely gave me money.

"No, I can't."

He refused without hesitation.

"What does a young girl like you need so much money for?

"Della will move in tomorrow. She'll be your aunt in the future. If you want anything, then ask her to buy it for you."

Why did he mention Della again?

I hate her!

I could only suppress all my emotions and remain silent.

Also, I began to be thankful for the phone call I had just made.

The place would soon become Della and Mylo's love nest, and it was time for me, an outsider, to leave.

There was no need for Mylo to drive me away, and I would leave on my own.
