Chapter 4

"When you were born, was your brain squeezed and shrunk? Why do you love groveling so much? Hurry up then, maybe you can catch something warm."

"My parents' salaries may be low, but it's still better than you earning 150 dollars a month cleaning toilets. You borrowed 5,000 dollars from me last year and promised to repay it in a month. It's been a year now. Please transfer it to my account by tomorrow, or be prepared for me to sue you."

"You like receiving blessings so much, how about I give you one? Come over and kowtow to me. I'll give you 100 for each kowtow. The more you kowtow, the more you get."

"If you want to receive this blessing, you better hurry. Once it expires, I won't wait."

"And to those who are backing him up, those who mocked my family for being poor, you really have nothing better to do. Tomorrow, I'll take my parents to buy a house and a car. Take care of your own petty issues; my matters are none of your concern."

After finishing my rant, I closed the group chat.

My parents looked at the relatives in the group, who were unanimously against me, their faces turning dark with anger.

They had been honest and straightforward their whole lives, unable to utter anything harsh, so they could only stew in silence.

I comforted them, "Dad, Mom, don't be angry. It's not worth it to harm your health over such petty people."

"Come on, your daughter will take you out for a big meal."

My parents, mindful of money, were reluctant to go.

"Emma, don't spend unnecessarily. Save the money for yourself. We're fine with anything."

"Yes, Emma, listen to your dad. I'll make you your favorite braised pork at home."

Seeing their heads full of white hair, I felt a pang of sorrow.

I was their only daughter. Although I had given them money every month all these years, they still didn't eat or dress well.

They just wanted to save money to buy me a house.

Now that I had money, it was their turn to enjoy life.

The next morning, I took my parents out.

We headed straight for the most luxurious villa district in Riverley City.

My parents asked what we were doing there. I smiled but didn't answer, only asking if they liked it.

We finally found one that we all liked.

I waved my hand and paid in full for a fully furnished villa, ready to move in.

My parents looked at me in shock, asking where I got the money.

Even suspected that I robbed the bank.

I couldn't help but laugh.

I had no choice but to tell them about the lottery win.

"Oh my god, 50,000,000 dollars? Your father and I couldn't earn that much in ten lifetimes."

My mom was so happy she almost fainted.

My dad was a bit more composed, though his hand holding the coffee cup was trembling.

"Dad, didn't you always want a car? Let's go buy one."

My dad smiled so wide that his mouth almost reached his ears.

I wanted to buy him a good one, but he insisted on a Mercedes-Benz, saying it was grand.

Helpless, I could only take him to the dealership to choose.

My dad had good taste; he liked an SUV.

I teased him, "In the future, you can drive this car and take mom out for trips. Don't worry about the money; we couldn't spend it all in a lifetime."
