Leaving Him and Marriage Behind
Chapter 3
"Lilyana..."
After seeing the person, I finally felt relieved.
Like a child who had found someone to rely on, I threw myself into her arms and burst into tears.
"I'm here. With me here, no one can bully you."
Lilyana Hardy patted my back gently and comforted me in a soft voice, just like three years ago.
Three years ago, I broke up with Lawson because of Janelle.
I couldn't accept that my future husband would always think of another woman.
Lilyana was exasperated at my attitude.
"You've been a simp for seven years. Isn't it enough? A mental affair will develop into a physical affair sooner or later. If you still choose to get married to Lawson, then we'll be strangers. I can't stand being friends with idiots."
Lilyana and I had been best friends since we were kids.
Under her encouragement, I tried my best to forget about Lawson.
However, when Lawson raised the flowers to propose to me downstairs, I couldn't help but be touched.
He said that he would never contact Janelle again and that he would always love me for the rest of his life.
I was defeated at that moment.
I believed him.
As for Lilyana, she kept her word and blacklisted me.
I lost my best friend. Three years later, I lost everything that I had.
"I'm sorry, Lilyana. I was too stupid. I deserved it."
"All right, let's forget about it. I'm here."
My mother and I had left our hometown for many years, and I had devoted myself to my work. Therefore, I didn't have many friends.
After Lilyana left, only Lawson was left by my side.
I treated him as my backer, but he never treated me well just because I had no one to back me up.
He used to mock and ignore me, and now he wanted to destroy my career and make me a puppet that would only listen to him.
After crying, I seemed to have vented all the grievances kept in my heart for years.
All of a sudden, I felt so much better.
Only then did I notice the handsome young man in sportswear behind Lilyana.
Before I could ask something, Lawson called me.
"Yasmine, stop fooling around. You've already accepted the wedding gifts I sent you. I'll buy a new wedding dress later with you. Janelle wanted to be the bridesmaid, and I agreed. Where are you? I'll pick you up."
When Lawson proposed to me, he gave me some gifts, worthy of 10 thousand dollars.
However, in his eyes, it became evidence that I was after his money.
He didn't know how much money my mother had left for me.
Just as I was about to curse at Lawson, I suddenly thought of something and told him my address.
Under Lilyana's suspicious gaze, I hung up the phone.
"Don't worry, I won't tolerate it this time. I will make those who hurt me and my mother pay a heavy price!"
