Leaving Him and Marriage Behind Chapter 1

On the eve of the wedding, photos of my fiance and his first love went viral all over the Internet.

They acted intimately, looking at each other sweetly in those photos, which could be called explicit photos.

That girl was wearing a wedding dress designed by me for the competition.

Now, the unknown liquid stained the patterns embroidered by my mother on the wedding dress, and I lost the qualification to participate in the competition because of the exposure of my work.

My mother, who had wanted to see me get married after winning the championship, suddenly passed away with regret.

Under my question, my fiance said casually.

"Janelle is just a girl. Don't you feel ashamed to compete with a little girl?"

However, when I got married to a well-matched young man, he burst into tears.

"We've been together for ten years, but you just knew him for ten days!"

The young man smiled, revealing two canine teeth. "Lawson, I'm still young. Wouldn't it be even more ashamed for you to compete with me?"

When I was about to go on stage to receive the award, I was suddenly stopped.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Abbott, but you got disqualified."

I looked at my mother in the wheelchair subconsciously, feeling confused.

Then I saw the wedding photo of my fiance, Lawson Hoffman, and his first love, Janelle Crawford.

Janelle, the online celebrity wore the wedding dress designed by me and took a lot of explicit photos.

And the pure and flawless wedding dress, which I had spent three years working hard on, had become a pile of garbage.

The delicate embroidery patterns were covered with a layer of sticky and unknown liquid.

The hemline of her gauze dress had been torn apart, and the gems on it had been torn into pieces.

"These photos became popular all over the Internet overnight and violated our confidentiality requirements. What's more, the wedding dress was so damaged..."

My eyes reddened uncontrollably.

This wedding dress contained the painstaking efforts of my mother and me.

Last night, Lawson asked me for the password of the studio and said that he would give me a surprise.

He said that I could sleep late, and he would send the wedding dress to the venue for me.

At that time, I was very surprised and moved.

After all, he was usually a no-nonsense man. It was the first time that he would like to give me a surprise.

But I didn't expect it to be such a surprise.

"It doesn't matter. I'll have another chance next time."

I tried my best to comfort myself. The competition would be held every three years. When I went back, I would cancel the wedding and spend another three years designing a new wedding dress.

However, my assistant interrupted my thoughts.

"Ms. Abbott! Come and have a look. Your mother seems to be in an emergency!"

I turned pale with fright and rushed to my mother, calling for an ambulance.

My mother couldn't utter a word. She could only hold my hand and cry.

The venue of the competition was also in a mess.

After we arrived at the hospital, my hands couldn't stop trembling, and I kept begging the doctor.

But the doctor still shook his head at me.

"It's a miracle that the patient can hold on until now."

My mother was in the terminal stage of cancer and was tortured by the pain, looking skinny.

She had managed to hold on until now just to see if the embroidery patterns could be introduced to the whole world as well as if I got married happily.

But both of her wishes were in vain.

With regret and grief, she left the world forever.

And all of this was caused by Lawson and Janelle.

I called Lawson time and time again just to find out what was going on, but no one answered.

I could only deal with my mother's funeral by myself.

When I got home and looked at the familiar surroundings, I suddenly felt like it was strange.

That wedding dress was sent home by my assistant.

It hung there alone, as if it was laughing at me.

I had planned to get glory for my mother with this wedding dress and got first place. Then, I would wear it and marry the man I had loved for ten years.

But now, this wedding dress that should have witnessed my glory and happiness had become my shame.

When I was sad, some relatives and friends called me to ask about the situation.

"Yasmine, are you all right? What's going on with those photos on the Internet? Aren't you getting married? I've received the invitation. Why did Lawson take wedding photos with someone else?"

"Yasmine, you've been dumped by Lawson, haven't you? You're usually so strong. Women should concentrate on serving men and doing whatever they want. Forget about your career. Now you've indeed humiliated."

"Yasmine, don't be sad. I'll go find you right now. A scumbag like Lawson isn't worthy of your love. The sooner you know it, the sooner you'll be free!"

In the face of these concerns and ridicule, I was too tired to reply.

I seemed to have lost everything overnight.

Right at this moment, Lawson returned.

He looked at the empty table and frowned.

"Why don't you cook when you're home? I've been working all day and I'm very hungry."

I glared at him.

"Why did you do this to me? Why did you steal my wedding dress for Janelle? Why did you take those disgusting photos with her?

"I've disqualified myself from the competition. My Mom..."

Lawson's face darkened and he interrupted me impatiently.

"Enough, Yasmine. Don't be so serious. It's just a wedding dress. If Janelle likes it, just give it to her. She's just a girl, and you're almost 30. Don't you think it's a shame to compete with a little girl?"

"It's not just a wedding dress!"

My mother and I worked so hard to finish it.

It carried the lifelong wishes of my mother and me.

Lawson loosened his tie, and the hickeys on his neck could be seen clearly.

"I'll buy you a new one, okay? Besides, what's the point of winning an unknown competition like that?"

It was a world-class competition.

If I got first place in this competition, I would be known as a top designer in the world.

Then I could show the world these embroidery patterns and fulfill my mother's wish.

However, because of Lawson, I got humiliated, my career suffered a devastating blow, and I lost my mother forever.

When Lawson saw that I was crying silently, his tone softened a little.

"Forget it, I won't argue with you. After all, we're getting married. I don't think you have to continue your career after getting married. I'll earn money. You can just be a housewife at home.

"Don't be angry. Think about it, you are already mine, so that wedding dress is also mine. It's not a big deal for me to take my own things."

I was so pissed off.

Without hesitation, I threw the dirty wedding dress on his face.

"I want to cancel the wedding!"
