The Husband Personally Arranged the Scene of Catching the Adulterer
Chapter 2
Ray and Bonnie had an affair first, and I was just retaliating.
That day, the project in Arizona ended a day early. I bought the ticket for the earliest flight back, wanting to surprise Ray.
I knew he was at home, so I rushed home at once after getting off the plane.
From the moment I entered the door, I was surprised.
The living room was not lit, but it was very bright, with elegant light strips hanging in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The warm-colored lights were charming and enchanting.
In the center, bright rose petals formed the shape of a heart on the floor.
It was very romantic, but I was definitely not the protagonist of this surprise.
Because everything was a mess starting from the sofa. High heels were kicked far away, and clothes were scattered on the floor.
All the way to the bedroom door, I saw a dress, a pair of trousers, a shirt, a pair of rolled-up stockings, and even bras.
It must have been very titillating.
With red eyes, I stood at the bedroom door, trembling with anger, hesitating whether to catch them in bed.
Ray happened to come out of the door. He had a flushed face, and he looked very shocked when he saw me.
"Grace, why did you come back early?"
He was only wearing underwear, exposing his tanned skin. If it were usual, I would definitely be captivated by his charm, calling his name affectionately, and then throwing myself into his arms.
However, he blocked my line of sight with guilt, not letting me see the situation in the bedroom.
I pushed him away and rushed into the room, only to see a woman sitting at the head of my bed, her sexy nightgown hurting my eyes.
She had brown wavy hair. I was in great disbelief. It was Bonnie.
Bonnie's face turned pale. "Grace, it's not what you think."
I stared at the bed without blinking, where there were fresh imprints from someone sleeping on it.
"We assembled this bed together."
Ray and I visited countless furniture stores and couldn't find anything satisfactory, so we had it custom-made and spent an afternoon assembling it ourselves.
After we put the mattress on, he hugged me. We lay on this bed, and he whispered words that made my face blush and my heart race.
As I recalled these memories, tears welled up in my eyes and fell onto the floor.
I screamed hysterically at Ray, "How could you have sex with another woman in this bed?"
Ray panicked and tried to grab my hand. "Grace, hear me out!"
I shook it off with force.
"Don't touch me. You disgust me!"
The smell of the burning incense in the room made me nauseous.
Bonnie had already put on her clothes and was about to leave, but I blocked her at the door.
"You don't have to leave. I should."
I didn't pack anything. I just pushed the suitcase for the business trip and left.
I could always buy things that I needed, but I couldn't stay here for another second.
When I went out, a gust of cool wind blew, lifting a corner of the curtain. I looked up.
On the balcony, the tea table where we used to sit to watch the stars and the moon had two unfinished steaks and two glasses of champagne, one set on the left and the other set on the right.
I sneered, "Ray, you've arranged your affair more grandly than your proposal. You've really made progress."
We were together for six years. Six years of my time wasted.
I was very unwilling, and my heart ached so much that I couldn't even breathe.
But I reminded myself that I was Grace Lane, and of course, I wouldn't be easily defeated like this.
I would deal with the bitch couple. I would make them regret it.
Actually, now that I thought about it, there had been traces of Ray's affair.
I gave him full trust, but he betrayed me, which was a hard slap in my face.
