Chapter 3

  My parents came.

Chaz's family didn't even dare to make a sound, let alone shout.

They curled up in the corner of the sofa like quails, cowering in fear.

In the face of their reaction, the corners of my mouth curled into a cold smile.

Weren't they arrogant just now? They even forced me to abort the baby so I could take care of Sarah. Why are they all mute now?

It didn't matter. I'd tell my parents about what happened.

"Mom, Dad, I called you here today because I have two pieces of news to share with you."

Mom and Dad asked at the same time, "What news?"

  "I'm pregnant!"

Mom and Dad's eyes suddenly lit up in surprise. "Really?"

"How long? When did you find out?"

"You should be more careful in the future. You can't run and jump like before."

My parents' advice made me want to cry.

This was the reaction parents should have, right?

After all, I wasn't Lester's daughter. That was why he said such cruel words to me and wanted me to abort the child.

The more I thought about it, the more aggrieved I felt, and my eyes turned slightly red.

"Why are you crying?" Mom noticed the change in my mood and quickly took a tissue to gently wipe my tears.

Dad was even more at a loss. He didn't know how to comfort me.

My parents-in-law watched coldly without any reaction.

Chaz's mouth twitched for a long time, but he didn't say a word of comfort in the end.

  My heart sank.

I told my parents everything about Saran's pregnancy and her family forcing me to have an abortion.

After that, I choked with sobs, waiting for my parents to support me and reason with my parents-in-law.

Unexpectedly, my father smiled kindly and said, "Lester and Sarah are right. You can have another child in the future, but they can't."

"Good girl, listen to me. Have an abortion this time."

  I was stunned.

  I was completely dumbfounded.

I asked my parents to come and support me, but now, they were on the same side as my parents-in-law.

  I felt depressed and puzzled.

Not only that, but my mother also said to my parents-in-law gently.

"Mr. and Mrs. Pugh, don't worry. We'll take Zoey to have an abortion tomorrow."

"You're pregnant and need to rest. We'll take care of Zoey."

"When she recovers, I'll send her back."

The old couple were so happy that the corners of their mouths curled up high.

  "Okay, okay. Thank you."

"It's okay. You should rest early. We'll take Zoey back."

Getting up, my parents grabbed me from both sides and pulled me away.

I stamped my feet anxiously. "Mom, Dad!"

Did I have to give up?

My parents dragged me into the car regardless of my struggle and crying.

The car started and drove away. My father's expression changed and he roared at me.

"Zoey, haven't you seen the ugly side of this family yet?"

"If you don't abort the child and divorce Chaz, what are you waiting for?"

  Only then did I understand.

My parents' good tempers were all for them to see. Their purpose was to take me away smoothly.

"Don't tell me that you still have hope for Chaz."

My long eyelashes trembled as I was deep in thought.

I was from the same university as Chaz.

He worked hard to improve himself and was modest and eager to learn. He attracted my attention a week after I entered the university.

At that time, regardless of my parents' objections, I insisted on dating him.

In the four years of college, he asked about my well-being. As soon as I graduated from college, I chose to marry him.

Even if he didn't have a house or a car, I didn't care!

At that time, I, who was in the late stage of love, felt that as long as we were together and worked hard, we would have everything sooner or later.

My parents couldn't persuade me and felt sorry for me. They couldn't bear to see us rent a house after we got married, so they secretly bought me a three-bedroom apartment as a wedding house.

At that time, I wanted to share the good news with Chaz as soon as possible, but I was stopped by my father.

He said that any man had a strong self-esteem. What would he think if he knew?

"Just tell him that you rented this house, so he can live in it with peace of mind."

I gave my father a thumbs-up and said, "You're so thoughtful!"

Now, it seemed that my parents had other intentions from the very beginning!

They might have noticed that Chaz was unreliable and that his parents were not good people, but they couldn't stop me, so they came up with such a bad idea.

After figuring this out, I immediately took out my phone and called the property management company.

"Please send someone to drive out the tenants of Building No. 3, Room 1502!"
