Your Midsummer's Fervor for Me
Chapter 3
"Hello."
"Eda! Have you checked the trending topics?"
Maria Stanley's scream came from the phone.
She was my childhood friend.
She was also the only person who knew everything about me and Dale.
"Yes. They said Dale plagiarized."
"That's not what I'm talking about!
"He's with someone!
"She's already tweeted and mentioned him!
"She thanked him for writing the song for her!
"I thought he wrote it for you!"
Maria kept shouting, while I had already clicked on Twitter.
The top trending topic on Twitter had changed.
#Dale, plagiarism.
It was the original top trending topic.
#Dale, wrote for her.
I clicked on the newest top trending topic.
Everyone was forwarding Ruby Fox's tweet.
She tweeted, [Thank you for the song you wrote for me.]
And what made this tweet go viral was the like from Dale himself.
He saved the trouble for the paparazzi.
Almost everyone was cursing him, but some started shipping the couple.
[I thought Dale had no rumors because he's gay! Turns out he's already with someone!]
[The couple is adorable! Dale, Ruby, if you get married, don't forget to send me an invitation!]
I watched those comments.
"Eda, are you listening?"
Maria's voice came from the phone. She hadn't hung up yet.
"Yes. I saw it. What's up?"
"He wrote it for you.
"How come it's for her?"
"Dale wrote the song. If he says it's for her, then it is."
"Then what does that make you?
"What about all the hardships you've endured with him?"
Maria's two questions left me speechless.
I hung up the phone.
What does that make me?
Guess this is a gesture returning the favor he did for me when tilting the umbrella in the rain in my direction.
