Bradyn and I had grown up together as childhood sweethearts. How could he not know what I hated to eat?

He did it on purpose. His gaze at me was filled with resentment.

He couldn't openly defy his mother's wishes, so he expressed his dissatisfaction in this way.

And I became his outlet for frustration.

We used to be so happy together! In those two torturous months, I often dreamed of the young Bradyn leaning on my bedside, gently asking me.

I stared blankly at the piece of meat, and then instinctively leaned over the table, grabbing it with my mouth and swallowing it down desperately.

Both my parents and Bradyn's parents were shocked. No matter how spoiled I had been, my manners were always impeccable.

Bradyn's pupils contracted as he watched me, his face turning ominously dark.

Because I didn't cooperate with them, Aron and his people locked me in a pitch-black room and starved me for three full days. Then, they threw rotten food onto the floor.

I was so, so hungry that I had to crawl on the ground, grabbing at the spoiled food with my hands and devouring it. But before I could take a few bites, Aron had someone tie my hands behind my back. He wanted to see me act like a dog, licking the food off the ground with my mouth.
