When I Saw Through His Lies
Chapter 5
Raymond touched my head to comfort me.
Before leaving, Nancy looked at me one last time, her eyes full of pride.
An hour after they left, Raymond's phone and text messages were disconnected.
I waited for a long time until an anonymous number sent me a few photos.
In the photo, Raymond was shirtless, and Nancy was lying on his chest like a little bird.
There are no words, but everything is said.
With trembling hands, I dialed the number, but still no one answered.
Raymond did not come back that day.
After a full day of being out of touch, he knelt on the living room floor.
"Wanda, I’m sorry..."
He moved towards me on his knees.
I squatted down and unbuttoned his clothes one by one.
His chest was covered with thick hickeys.
While waiting, I kept comforting myself that the photos were photoshopped. Now it seems ridiculous.
"Wanda, can you please pay attention to me? "
Without waiting for my answer, he suddenly began to fan himself, rubbing the skin on his chest vigorously, turning a large area red and even causing the skin to peel off.
The bigger his movements, the more painful my heart feels.
But I still dodged when he wanted to touch me.
"Nasty..."
One word separated the distance between us, just like The Mariana Trench.
The air was silent for a long time, and something on the table fell to the ground with a crisp sound, which brought the two people back to their senses.
His lips moved, they were bloodless and his face was pale.
