When I Saw Through His Lies
Chapter 2
I didn't argue with him, I just pretended he didn't exist.
He lifted the quilt, pressed his hot body against mine, and gently stroked my belly with his big hands.
"Wanda, I have no relatives anymore. You and the child are my only family in this world. We, the three of us, will never be separated, okay?”
My tense body relaxed.
After so many years of relationship and having a child, it is impossible to break up just like that.
With Raymond's repeated assurances, we reconciled.
But I didn’t expect that my first meeting with Nancy would come so soon.
After I became pregnant, I switched to working online for fear of accidentally harming the baby, which gave me plenty of time.
I have too much free time, so I plan to go to the mall to look for clothes for my baby.
What a coincidence, I saw the "family" that I should least expect to see.
Raymond held a child in his arms, and Nancy followed behind them with a gentle look on his face.
Such a happy scene makes my eyes hurt.
The child laughed out loud at his amusement.
The shopping bag slipped from my hands and the children's clothes were scattered all over the floor.
The air was still between the three of them.
"Wanda...”
"Uncle, why don’t you leave?”
Nancy took the child away from his arms.
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, Wanda, I just returned and I'm not familiar with everything yet, so I had to ask Ray to accompany me to buy some things for the children.”
She quickly picked up everything on the ground and put it in my hands.
There is always such a gentle smile on his face, so gentle that people can't bear to blame him.
"Do you have a baby?”
After seeing what was in the bag, her perfect expression changed.
Raymond pushed her aside and walked towards me.
"Why didn't you tell me and let me accompany you?”
"Don’t you already have someone to accompany you?”
My words were very blunt and Nancy's face was full of embarrassment.
"If you don't like it, there will be no second time?”
He acted very determined.
Seeing that the situation was not going right, Nancy spoke hurriedly.
"You really misunderstood, Wanda, blame me if you want to. I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable.”
"If you quarrel because of me, I will feel very sorry?”
Her words sounded gentle, but she was actually playing the victim.
The child broke free from her arms and clung to Raymond's legs.
"Hug me...”
The babyish voice is irresistible.
Nancy did not pull the child away, as if waiting for Raymond to make a choice.
He completely skipped the child and took my hand.
"Is there anything else you want to buy? I'll go with you?”
She seemed to react at last and pulled the child over.
"Sunny, be obedient.”
Then he looked at us with tears in his eyes.
"You two can go and do your own thing. I can do it alone?”
But the next second, the child sat on the ground and burst into tears.
Raymond held my hand tightly.
"If you want to go, go ahead?”
I pulled my hand away without leaving a trace.
He pulled me and turned around, as if he had made a great decision.
"Let's go.”
Along the way, he was absent-minded.
Not long after he got home, his phone rang.
"I am from the company. There is a problem with the project. I have to go there now?”
He has time to spend with Nancy and her son, but when he stays with me, he has to work.
It was something that was so clear, but I spent so long deceiving myself.
