Chapter 2

I looked at Louis in disbelief. He didn't hesitate and really only took Sharon away, then got in the car and left.

"No! Don't leave me here! Louis! Save me..." I shouted at the top of my lungs, my voice was hoarse.

But soon the sound of a car starting was heard. Louis took Sharon away quickly. I was the only one drowned by the shadow behind me.

The beasts behind me laughed wildly, "Little beauty, your brother doesn't love you that much, he actually left you for that woman!"

They rolled up their sleeves and walked towards me with ill intentions. "In that case, you will be our brothers' snack tonight!"

I screamed, struggled and asked for help. But no one found this abandoned warehouse. Until they got up one by one with satisfaction. I was in tatters, staring at the ceiling with lifeless eyes, only despair remained.

Later. I picked up the dagger next to me, ready to chop them to death and then die.

Suddenly, a sharp alarm sounded. They were all arrested.

When I raised the knife to my chest with a wry smile, someone suddenly grabbed my wrist with a trembling hand.

"Serena!"

Frank's eyes were red. "I'm sorry, I'm late, I'm late..."

He threw away the knife and held me in his arms.

"Ambulance! Quick, ambulance!"

Until I was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

I saw the advertising screen in the city center. It was broadcasting the scene captured by the paparazzi. Louis hugged the woman in his arms intimately, buttoned his shirt and walked out of the hotel.

Meanwhile I stayed in the hospital for three days and three nights.

Louis never showed up from beginning to end. And I had long since given up any hope.

Frank had been staying by my side for three days without sleep. He asked someone to cook my favorite light dishes and helped me apply medicine on time. He also propped up his head and stayed by my bed when I fell asleep at night.

Once I fell asleep deeply, I had endless nightmares. I dreamed of cold blades, abandoned warehouses and men's grins. And the back of Louis leaving without hesitation.

Every time I woke up screaming, Frank would wake up instantly, hug me in his arms reflexively and comfort me softly.

"Serena, don't be afraid! I'm here, I'm here!"

Until the doctor said I was recovered and could be discharged.

Frank drove to take me to Crystale Villa.

Crystale Villa and the castle behind it were birthday gifts given to me by Louis when I was 18 years old.

When I arrived, I huddled in the car and refused to get out.

"When I was living alone in it, they rushed in and kidnapped me. I don't want to go back!"

Frank's eyes flashed with heartache. "Then come home with me, okay?"

I nodded.

After living in Frank's house for two weeks, Louis called me for the first time after the accident.

He opened his mouth with an extremely calm voice.

"Serena, tomorrow is Mid-Autumn Festival, my mother wants you to go back to the old house for dinner."

"Hello? Can you hear me, Serena?"

I didn't say anything and hung up the phone with tears.

It turned out that it was Mid-Autumn Festival.

I remembered that last month, when I went to the old house to visit Marianne, Loui’s mom. She smiled and held my hand and said.

"Next month, my son Louis will come back. If nothing goes wrong, you will get engaged on Mid-Autumn Festival!"

But now, things had changed. I just curled up in Frank's house and became a turtle.

The phone rang several times again. All of them were missed calls from Louis, so I turned it off directly.

The next day, Louis actually found Frank's house. He was standing downstairs in a black windbreaker, with one hand in his trouser pocket and called me.

"Come down. Come back to the old house with me."
