To Save His First Love, He was Ruthless to Me Chapter 1

I’ve been married to Bill for five years, and he’s still listed as my emergency contact.

So,when I was dragged into the forest by a large Tibetan mastiff, its teeth tearing into my flesh,I instinctively dialed his number.

Before I could speak, his voice cut through the line, sharp and cold.

"Can you stop calling me all the time?I have things to do,I don’t have time for your nonsense!"

Through the howling wind,I heard Annie's sickly sweet voice in the background."Bill,I’m not feeling well..."

Bill’s tone softened immediately."I’ll be right there."

Then,he hung up.

The pain in my chest was unbearable, both from the mastiff’s claws and the familiar sting of his rejection. But before my consciousness faded completely,I managed to send him one final message.

"Bill,we’re even now.The favor I owed you from when I was fourteen—I no longer owe."

As the Tibetan mastiffs gnawed at my body, the world around me grew dark, and my breath slipped away.

(Present)

I hovered above, watching as the creatures tore into my body, their jaws leaving me mutilated, shredded beyond recognition.Bloody claw marks marred the ground,a testimony to my desperation to live.

I had fought.Time and again,I had broken free from their grip, only to be dragged back.I had been their prey, their feast.

My soul drifted, weightless, helpless, until I found myself drawn to him—Bill.

Ten minutes ago,the man who had just scolded me for disturbing him was now standing by the sea,his arms wrapped protectively around Annie, his first love.

“Bai Yueguang, are you feeling unwell?Do you need a transfusion?”His voice was filled with concern.

Annie leaned into him,her delicate form tucked against his chest.“No,I’m fine.I shouldn’t always be taking my sister’s blood. She wouldn’t be happy about it.”

Bill sneered.“She dares to be unhappy? If you need it,I’ll have her dragged here.”

(Flashback to the Past)

I remembered the last time he made good on that promise.

It was a month ago.I had been in the kitchen, carefully baking a cake, when Bill’s assistant barged into our home with a group of bodyguards.

“Miss Belle, the boss has asked you to come to the hospital.”

His tone was polite, but the sheer force of his presence told me it wasn’t really a request.

I shook my head.“I’m not going.”

The assistant hesitated, clearly caught between his duty and my status as Bill’s wife.He sighed, then dialed Bill’s number and put the phone on speaker.

"Belle, you have five minutes to get to the hospital."

“I don’t want to go,Bill.I’m not feeling well.”

He didn’t care.“She’s faking it,”he said to the assistant.“Always claiming she’s sick here or there. If she won’t come, grab her and take her there.Annie needs a blood transfusion.”

The bodyguards moved quickly. No matter how I fought, they pinned my arms, dragging me to the hospital.

Once there, the doctor, clearly familiar with this routine, drew 400 milliliters of my blood without question.

But Bill wasn’t satisfied.

“Is that enough?Draw a few more bags,”he ordered, his voice as cold as ever.

The doctor looked at me,concerned.“Mr.Bill,Miss Belle is very anemic. We can only take 400 milliliters safely.Any more could be harmful.”

Bill waved the warning away like it was nothing.“Just do it.”

The room began to spin, the world fading as I lost count of how many bags of blood they took.My vision blurred, and soon,I passed out.

When I woke up,the room was empty.Bill was gone.

(Present)

I trembled as the memory faded, realizing that even in death, the pain of that day still lingered within me.

From my vantage point,I watched as Bill peeled an orange for Annie the love of his life,as though nothing else in the world mattered.

How easily he had discarded me—his wife, the one he had promised to care for. Now,as a spirit,I saw the truth clearly:I had never mattered to him.

“Annie,”he said softly,“rest now.I’ll stay with you a little longer.”

She smiled up at him."Thank you,Bill."

And just like that, the man who had left me to die in the forest was here, protecting her as though her well-being was the only thing that ever counted.

I stood there, invisible, watching the love of my life with the woman he had always truly cared for.Even in death, there was no peace. No closure.Only the bitter truth.

He had never been mine.
