The Whole Family Struck by Leukemia Once Again
Chapter 2
The doctor said the situation was critical and the patients could die at any time.
I couldn't care about anything else and decided to go find Faye for the medicine myself.
I called Faye's assistant. The assistant hesitated and refused to tell me the name of the pet hospital. I pressured her with my identity as Faye's fiancé. Then she told me.
I remembered the name the assistant mentioned. It was near Zion's house, where they often went.
There was a rare heavy rain with thunder and lightning outside.
There was no one on the road, and I couldn't even get a car, but I didn't care and bravely went to the pet hospital in the storm.
After an hour, I was completely soaked and arrived in a sorry state.
When Faye saw me, her originally relaxed expression involuntarily tightened.
"Why are you here?"
It seemed like my presence here was a crime.
But I didn't answer her question. My goal was clear. "Where is the medicine?"
Faye seemed impatient. "You only know to ask about medicine. Can't you see that Zion's pet dog is dying?"
"So what?" I asked, puzzled. "His pet dog is dying. What does it have to do with me coming to get medicine?"
Faye was angered by my cold attitude. "Why are you so heartless?"
I found it absurd.
Just recently, this pet dog held back Faye from delivering the medicine.
Thirteen lives had already been lost.
I wanted to question her, but I knew it wasn't the best time.
My parents and my younger brother and sister were still waiting for my medicine at the hospital.
I suppressed my anger and softened my tone, "Faye, I am also very sad about the pet dog, but my parents are still at the hospital and need medicine."
Seeing my softened attitude, Faye's momentum eased a lot, and she looked up at her assistant.
Suddenly, Zion cried out with a crying voice, "Sister, my dog is not breathing. What should we do? I don't believe the dog is going to die. Let's change to another hospital, and it will be cured."
Only then did I see that Zion was holding a dying dog in his hands, and he had a few scratches on his own face.
I originally wanted to tell them to go to the hospital quickly, but a sudden phone call changed my mind.
I grabbed the medicine, stopped Faye with pleading eyes. "Take me first."
Faye pushed my hand away impatiently.
"I've already given you the medicine, what else do you want?"
I stubbornly grabbed her clothes again as if I were a naughty dog.
"Faye, please, just give me a ride. The hospital called just now and said they can't wait any longer. They need the medicine immediately."
They can't wait for another hour.
I've already lost thirteen family members, and I can't lose anymore.
"Sister, but the dog doesn't have much time left, we have to go to the hospital right away."
Zion held the dog, looking exhausted and almost leaning on Faye.
She didn't hesitate for long when it came to our pleas.
"I'll take Zion first, and my assistant will drive you."
But there was clearly only one car on the road at this time!
If we went to the garage to pick up the car, and then went to the hospital, my mom and dad couldn't wait at all!
I knelt down to Faye and abandoned all dignity.
"Faye, I beg you, I really can't lose my parents..."
I had been rebellious repeatedly today, and Faye's face was already very ugly.
"They have been in the intensive care unit so many times. How could they suddenly deteriorate so severely? Don't lie to me."
That was the condition three months ago!
The last time Faye visited my family in the hospital was three months ago. At that time, they were also very serious. They were afraid that I would be looked down upon by Faye because of their illness, so they didn't say it was serious.
A year ago, my whole family suddenly had acute leukemia, and the condition was unstoppable.
The doctor said that this type of leukemia was rare. It was caused because the ordinary hematopoietic stem cells underwent malignant clonal proliferation and sudden mutation.
Only a special drug from abroad could relieve it, and this drug was strictly controlled.
The person in charge of the only channel was Faye.
Unable to resist my repeated pleas, Faye finally agreed to bring the medicine.
She clearly agreed to deliver the medicine to the hospital five hours ago, but Faye suddenly broke the appointment and disappeared.
Now it seemed that it was because Zion and his dog were injured and Faye accompanied him to the pet hospital.
At this moment, I couldn't hold any emotions in my mind, I just wanted Faye to take me to the hospital so that I could save my family.
After Faye finished speaking, she hugged Zion and walked towards the car.
I went crazy and wanted to seize this last hope. I blocked in front of the car.
"Faye, take me to the hospital! Otherwise, I will crash into the car!"
But Faye just opened the window and gestured to the bodyguard with a look.
I was rudely pulled out of the lane.
"Faye, stop! Stop!"
It was useless.
The wheels of the Maybach rolled, splashing me with rainwater.
When I arrived at the hospital in a more miserable state and handed the medicine to the doctor, the doctor just angrily said to me, "Why are you only coming now? They have been dead. What's the use of these medicines?!"
Four more bodies were added in the cold morgue.
