Believing his prayers are answered, he waits anxiously at the hospital. But at the critical moment, Faye abandons him for an urgent matter. Left helpless outside the intensive care unit, he can only watch as tragedy unfolds. By morning, thirteen of his beloved family members lie cold in the morgue, victims of an unforgivable betrayal.

The Whole Family Struck by Leukemia Once Again Chapter 1

My whole family suddenly contracted acute leukemia. They were in critical condition, and the medicine was hard to find.

The only person in charge of the import channel for the medicine was my fiancée, Faye Lewis.

I thought it was a blessing from heaven. But unexpectedly, while waiting for the life-saving medicine, Faye suddenly had something urgent and stood me up.

I stood in front of the intensive care unit in a state of distress, not knowing what to do.

That night, thirteen cold bodies lay in the morgue.

My parents were critically ill again. I called Faye to ask for the medicine, but her childhood friend answered the call. "Faye is at the pet hospital, what's the matter?"

I couldn't help but question, "Shouldn't she be here to deliver the medicine? Why is she there?!"

Soon, Faye's voice came from the phone, "I forgot. I asked my assistant to send it to you."

Unfortunately, it was too late.

That night, I lost all my family.

——

"The patients' conditions are critical. You said two hours ago that the imported medicine would be delivered immediately. Why hasn't it arrived yet?"

The attending doctor's anxious face was tinged with a touch of mourning. "Without the medicine, we can do nothing."

The doctor was telling the truth.

Without medicine, patients would really die.

There were already thirteen bodies lying in the cold morgue.

Those were my aunts and uncles.

And now, my parents and my younger brother and sister were in critical condition.

I was originally immersed in sadness, but suddenly my vacant eyes cleared up and I nodded desperately.

"Okay, okay, the medicine will be here soon, soon!"

But would the medicine really arrive?

I didn't know.

The only person in charge of the import channel for the medicine was my fiancée, Faye.

The medicine that should have arrived at the hospital two hours ago still hadn't come.

I couldn't reach Faye on the phone, so I had to call her secretary.

But what I was told was that Faye had something come up suddenly and couldn't come, and no one knew where the medicine I mentioned was.

I called Faye like a madman, but no one answered.

Thirteen lives were tragically lost amidst the sharp noise of the machines.

The medicine had already arrived in Birmingham...

I didn't have time to be sad, because another round of critical illness had started.

I held onto my phone tightly, dialing Faye's number over and over again, wishing I could grow wings and fly to her.

No one answered the phone.

Just as I was about to collapse, I heard Zion Berg's voice on the phone.

"Faye is at the pet hospital, what's the matter?"

My heart sank to the bottom of the valley, and I couldn't help but question, "Shouldn't she be here to deliver the medicine? Why is she there?"

After a few seconds of silence, someone else picked up the phone and it was the voice of Faye.

Her voice was flat, with a hint of impatience.

"I forgot, I asked the assistant to deliver it."

I listened to her words, and my mind went blank.

But I didn't have time to question anything.

With a pale face, I almost pleaded her.

"Faye, my parents and my younger brother and sister are in a very urgent situation now. The doctor said they must take medicine. I hope you can do it immediately..."

Before I finished speaking, Faye interrupted, "I got it."

I was afraid that Faye would forget, so I repeated it again, "It must be fast, please, let your assistant leave immediately. They can't hold on much longer..."

Faye complained that I was annoying. "Is it not enough? I have already brought the medicine back to the country. What else do you want? If you say one more word, the medicine will be one hour late."

I bit my lip tightly, afraid to make a sound.

"Sister, the dog seems... to be dying."

Zion's voice was sad and upset, and Faye comforted him immediately before she could hang up the phone.

"No, we have to wait for the doctor to make a check."

Faye's voice was gentle, which I had never heard before.

Faye comforted him for a long time. It was so long that the doctor came out again to ask if the medicine had arrived.

"Faye... the medicine..."

Before I finished speaking, the phone was hung up.
