The Real Culprit Who Murdered Me Turned Out To Be Her
Chapter 3
The masked woman was an enigma. She contacted me unilaterally. She had never said anything more than necessary and I couldn’t trace any information about her.
However, it seemed she was helping me at the moment.
I quickly looked up Mark Steven's information and found out that he had been my secretary. After my accident, Margaret took over the company on my behalf. She then exposed Mark for accepting bribes and sent him to prison.
He was sentenced to four years in prison, but he got his sentence reduced to one year because of good behavior. He was getting out in two days.
So, the first move Samantha made after she took control of my company was to get rid of Mark. The man must have a crucial role in the company and me!
That evening, Samantha was unusually affectionate to me again. She lay in my arms and tried everything she could to seduce me, but she failed. I kept indifferent to her advances.
Finally, she became frustrated and vented her anger by punching me lightly. I apologized to her, "I am sorry, Sam. This is all my fault. I am so useless that I can't satisfy your needs. You are still young, maybe you should ….":
She immediately covered my mouth and scolded me, "George Hamilton! Don’t say that! Don't you know I love you just the way you are? Everything else is just a bonus. Now, get some sleep and stop overthinking."
The next day, I contacted Mark's mother, transferred her some money and asked her to buy him a phone and add my contact when he got out. I needed him to do some job for me.
Mark's mother was very grateful when she heard my offer. After all, for an ex-convict to get a job straight after getting out of prison was nearly impossible and my offer relieved her greatly.
For me, Mark was a game changer. So, every second of waiting for him to contact me was torture.
Finally, at nine in the morning on the third day, Mark added me on WhatsApp and immediately requested a video call with me.
As soon as I received his video call, I could see that he was so agitated. “Mr. Hamilton, three years ago, Samantha framed me. I never took any bribes. I’ve been loyal to you for years. You have to believe me.”
I nodded. “Mark, calm down. Listen, I lost my memory and can’t remember much, but I suspect the woman with me isn’t really Samantha. She’s isolated me. Right now, you’re the only one I can trust.”
Mark was shocked. “Fuck! She isn’t Samantha? What the hell is going on? Tell me what to do. I’ll do anything to clear my name and help you, even if it means I'll have to go through hell for you.”
So, I sent him the newspaper clippings the private detective had given me. “I need you to go to Fortville Village and investigate this Margaret woman and her connection to Walter.”
Mark agreed immediately and then asked, “Mr. Hamilton, should I get a specialist to check your legs? It’s been three years and you’re still not walking. I suspect those two have sabotaged your recovery.”
“There is no need to do that,” I replied thoughtfully. “They might be planning something big. I need to see what they’re up to. However, you need to be quick and careful when investigating this matter, Mark. The future of the company and my life depend on you.”
Mark patted his chest and vowed, “Don’t worry, Mr. Hamilton. I’ll head to Fortville Village right away. You’ll hear from me soon.”
That evening, Samantha came home early and she also brought Walter with her.
I wheeled myself over and greeted them with a broad smile on my face. “Today isn’t a therapy day, so what brings you here, Dr. Luxton?”
Samantha's face turned red and she said shyly. “I asked Dr. Luxton if there was a way for us to have a baby. He said he could stimulate your brain nerves with acupuncture to temporarily restore your virility. He’s here to give you the first treatment tonight!”
I laughed inwardly. So, this was their big move! And, their action was really fast.
