The One Who Loves More Always Cries First

When my close friend Oliver Baker called me in distress late at night, I chose to ignore my boyfriend's furious protests and rushed to a local bar to rescue him. After spending the night caring for a heavily intoxicated Oliver, I woke up the following afternoon and tried to call my partner. My ignored rings went unanswered. Upon returning home expecting a typical argument, I was met with complete silence and a deserted apartment. I had no idea that my midnight rescue mission was the absolute breaking point for our relationship.

Chapter 3

Surrounded by a group of male athletes, I drank a lot of alcohol and invited them to go karaoke after eating barbecue. I didn't return home until after 2 o'clock in the middle of the night.

If it were usual, Theo would definitely keep the lights on and wait for me to come home, and then we would have a big argument, expressing his grievances and unwillingness.

Every time, I find him annoying, always hesitating and not acting like a man.

But today, he didn't wait for me and fell asleep on his own.

I stood in front of his bed, looking at his sleeping face intently.

Soon, he frowned slightly and turned over dissatisfied.

Because of the alcohol, I felt a burst of anger in my heart. I had originally wanted to apologize to him proactively, but now I couldn't be bothered to even look at him.

A man who doesn't care about others' efforts doesn't deserve forgiveness.

The next day, I found that Theo had already left.

As expected, Theo and I started another silent treatment, ignoring each other.

Every day, I still had endless dinner invitations, just like before.

I enjoyed playing murder mystery games, singing at karaoke bars, and going on off-road adventures.

Thanks to Theo's financial support, my hobbies are extremely diverse. Even if there's a popular food in a certain area, I can go and eat it with a few good friends, and Theo naturally foots the bill.

After several days, I finally realized that this time Theo didn't take the initiative to make peace.

If it were before, he would have found a reason to make peace with me a long time ago, but not this time.

My credit card has never been suspended, so I know Theo must be holding back, wanting me to give him another chance.

It's been about a week, and I'm thinking of giving him another chance. He's actually quite pitiful.

As a financial person, I work long hours every day and my life is boring. It's nothing like my buddies who enjoy the freedom of youth.

At noon, I picked up Oliver from school and took a photo with him at a dessert shop near the school.

I deliberately showed off Oliver's well-defined arm muscles and captioned it on Instagram: [Warm coffee, warm as the palm of your hand.]

I just wanted to annoy Theo for not talking to me for so long!

I wanted him to know that I'm not just any ordinary woman. There are plenty of people pursuing me.

But when I posted it on Instagram, Theo didn't immediately send me a questioning message like he used to on WhatsApp.

Instead, a lot of my good friends liked it, and several asked me where I was, but none of them were from Theo.

Instead of feeling relieved, I suddenly felt a sense of loss in my heart.

It's like accidentally losing something very important.

I held my phone and stared blankly, it took me a while to react when Oliver called me.

"Irvin, what are you daydreaming about?" Oliver reached out and lifted my chin, turning my face towards him.

"What are you doing!" I shook off Oliver's hand and suddenly felt repulsed by his face.
