The One I Love the Most Hurts Me the Most
Chapter 1
My younger brother, Thomas, who depended on me for everything, acted bravely in the face of injustice. As a result, he was persecuted by the kidnappers and was sent to the ICU.
I asked my fiancé Zion Griffin, a genius in surgery, to save Thomas. He had agreed to come but broke the promise at last.
The doctor said that no one except Zion could perform this difficult operation.
At this moment, Zion was hugging his white whale and comforting her softly.
It rained heavily that day, completely separating me and my only family.

I stood at the door of the ICU, watching Thomas painfully breathing inside, and my heart felt like it was being tightly gripped.
I looked at the time anxiously. It was already nine o'clock in the evening.
The doctor said that if Thomas couldn't successfully undergo the operation tonight, he would not survive.
"Why hasn't Dr. Griffin come yet? Thomas can't wait that long. "
The doctor asked me anxiously, and I felt a chill all over my body as I looked at the thirty-five missed calls on my phone.
Zion had promised me that he would come to perform surgery on Thomas.
But he still didn't show up yet.
Even though I found countless excuses for him in my heart, I still gritted my teeth and looked at the doctor when I saw Thomas struggling in pain.
"Don't worry. I'll bring Zion here right away. Please keep an eye on Thomas."
There was no time to indulge in sadness. I could only pinch my palms hard to keep myself awake.
I drove through the heavy rain.
The rain beat against my car window, and I dialed Zion's number over and over again endlessly.
At this moment, I had no way but to count on Zion. I absolutely couldn't lose Thomas.
Finally, when my phone was about to run out of juice from making calls, I got through to him.
But before I could ask him where he was, I heard soft sobbing coming from the other end of the phone.
"Hello? Who are you? "
"Where is Zion? Let him answer the phone. "
I didn't care about who answered the phone. I just wanted to see Zion as soon as possible.
"Are you asking Zion? He is in the kitchen cooking for me. What's the matter? "
"Where is your home?" I quickly called up the navigation and prepared to navigate to her address.
The woman seemed frightened by my cold tone and stammered.
I rubbed my hair in annoyance, then cursed inwardly and hung up the phone. Then I called Zion's assistant, Wesley.
I called Wesley three times before he answered.
As soon as the call was connected, I asked for Zion's address, but Wesley hesitated and didn't tell me the address.
"Wesley, I am Zion's fiancée and have the right to know where he is. I have something urgent and I need to find him now. You cannot afford the consequences if you cannot find him."
After the threat, Wesley actually told me his address.
"Room 603, Building 5, Villa Rica. "
After getting the address, I hung up the phone immediately and drove towards Villa Rica.
There was only one thing on my mind.
I just wanted Thomas alive.
When I arrived, the elevator showed a malfunction as if God played a joke on me. I decided to go upstairs by myself and bent down to take off my high heels.
I ran towards the stairwell barefoot, taking two steps at a time.
