The huge inheritance of my third uncle
Chapter 2
The moment I was hit, flashes of past events flooded my mind.
It felt as though my entire life's highlights were passing before my eyes.
When I was seven, my parents were killed by a car while riding home. After discussions between my three uncles, Aaron Moore, Brad Moore, and Caleb Moore, Caleb took me in.
Living under someone else's roof wasn't easy, as I had to constantly watch others' moods.
I took on all the household chores, laundry, mopping, grocery shopping, and cooking.
I also endured the occasional bullying from Isaac.
Isaac and I were born the same year and were close in age, which naturally led to conflicts.
Initially, Caleb would intervene when Isaac and I argued.
However, as time passed, when Isaac and I fought, Caleb would blame me without asking for details, accusing me of being ungrateful and saying I should just give in to Isaac after all the years he'd raised me.
Under these conditions, Isaac became increasingly arrogant.
Being in a dependent situation, I had to endure the humiliations Isaac brought.
Sometimes, I fought back.
Once, after Isaac urinated on my bedding, I broke his nose.
As a result, Caleb beat me with a whip, calling me a jerk and an ungrateful wretch.
I was left bruised and battered, with no one to take me to the hospital. I endured alone, unable to leave my bed for days, surviving only on leftovers.
When I asked for more food, Caleb would curse at me, saying he wanted to starve me so I wouldn't have the strength to fight his son.
He completely ignored the incident of his son urinating on my bed.
With such a father, it was no wonder Isaac never respected me.
He felt justified in his wrongful actions.
