Chapter 4

For a moment, I seemed to feel my heartbeat stop.

The next second, Calvin's emotionless voice rang in his ears, “If you want to wear the crown, you must bear its weight. Born in the Hatfield Family, marriage is a mission I cannot escape. Since I have no choice, I can only accept it.

“Terrie is pretty and simple. Compared to other domineering young ladies, she is the best choice.”

Tears slid down the corners of my eyes and flowed into the soil.

Calvin looked at Freida lovingly and finally there was emotion in his eyes as he said, “I thought I would spend my whole life like this, but your appearance is a gift from God to me.

“Thank you, Freida.”

The stinging words pierced my heart one by one.

I could not even tell whether my body hurt more or my heart hurt more.

The memories of childhood sweethearts gradually blurred.

I thought we were childhood sweethearts, I thought we were deeply in love, but in the end, they were all lies.

It was ridiculous that in the past twenty years of my life, my only wish was to marry him. I even helped him to have smooth career development and rapid advancement in career.

The boy under the willow tree who broke branches for me to make a crown was eventually lost in my memory.

The tense nerves suddenly broke and blood gushed out of the abdomen.

Calvin finally realized something was wrong and shouted at the servant beside him, “What are you waiting for? Go up and take a look!

“If something happens to the madam, you all won't have to work here anymore!”

While unconscious, my body was constantly being shaken.

Then, I fell into a warm embrace.

The familiar pine scent seemed to bring me back to the past when we were just the two of us.

But when I opened my eyes, I had been moved into the guest room. Calvin was sitting beside the bed.

His face was full of anger and coldness as he asked, “Why didn't you tell me you were hurt?

“Terrie, are you so stubborn? When will you change your temper?”

Ignoring his emotions, I turned and looked around the room.

It was shabby and messy, even worse than the servants' quarters and it was self-evident who was living in the master bedroom that originally belonged to me.

A sneer appeared on my lips, but I did not even look at him as I said, “My temper is none of your business. The person you should care about most now is Freida.”

I stood up and tore off the gauze wrapped around my abdomen.

“Also, let me remind you that this is the house I bought. Please have your lover move out as soon as possible.”

Calvin was completely enraged by the indifferent attitude. He immediately stood up and shouted angrily, “That's enough! Are you so intolerant?

“I let Freida live here so that you can take care of each other, not so that you can make trouble unreasonably!

“Forget it. It's still eight months before Freida gives birth. You should calm down and wait for the baby to be born. I don't want his mother to be a lunatic!”

After saying this, Calvin left without looking back.

When I lifted the quilt, I saw that the wound on my knee had been treated by a doctor.

I could not help but sneer. Everything that happened was caused by him, so why was he pretending to be a good guy then?

The laughter downstairs continued. I took out my mobile phone and lowered the price of the villa again.

I did not want to see this sad scene again.

That night, the servant prepared a meal. Most of them were seafood that Calvin was allergic to.

Standing on the second floor and taking a look, I remembered the time when Calvin was ordering food in the restaurant and was unwilling to bow his head for me.

It turned out that love and hate were so obvious.

When I returned to what used to be the master bedroom, the luggage that originally belonged to me had been thrown away.

It saved me a lot of effort.

After calling a taxi on my phone, I turned around and wanted to leave.
