The nanny's daughter, Cameron Diaz, harbored a strong delusion that she was my father Jackson's biological child.

She planned to expose the truth at my coming-of-age ceremony and reclaim everything she believed was rightfully hers.

So, in a bid to be helpful, I tracked down her long-lost father.

Despite being the nanny's daughter, she carried herself with an air of arrogant superiority.

As soon as she walked in, she dumped her bag on the floor and looked at me with disdain.

"You, get my things sorted quickly. I want the master bedroom upstairs.

"And since it's my first day here, a welcome dinner at a five-star restaurant is in order. Are you even listening to me?"

I glanced at Uma Diaz, the nanny, who looked uncomfortable and quickly intervened.

"Cameron, cut it out! Sorry about this, Ms. Fox, my daughter has lived in the countryside all her life and lacks proper manners."

I gave a polite nod and studied Cameron closely.

Her skin was darkened from years of sun exposure, and her hair was withered from the harsh elements.

She wore a threadbare checkered shirt and patched-up cotton pants, which spoke volumes about her rural background.

In contrast, I was dressed in sleek, understated luxury, my skin glowing from careful maintenance.

Cameron glared at me, clearly irritated. "What are you staring at?"

I chuckled lightly, ignoring her and addressing Uma.

"Uma, my dad and I agreed to let your daughter stay here because you said she wanted to focus on her studies for senior year.

"But we won't tolerate any rudeness. I'm overlooking her attitude this time, but please ensure she follows the rules."

Uma nodded vigorously and pulled Cameron away.

Despite her displeasure, Cameron had no choice but to settle into her mother's room.

That was just the beginning.

At dinner that evening, Jackson came home from work, and the atmosphere at the table was warm and cheerful.

Yet, Cameron kept making a scene, deliberately creating noise to draw attention.

She would cough loudly or stand in the corner, staring at us, making everyone uncomfortable.

Jackson, taken aback, asked, "Is this Uma's child?"

Cameron, called out by name, immediately pulled out a chair and sat down opposite Jackson.

"Hello, I'm Cameron. I've lived in the countryside all my life, and it's my first time in the city. I hope I won't cause any trouble.

"I want to thank you for letting me attend a private high school and for creating such a wonderful opportunity for me."

Jackson, always kind-hearted, smiled at her politeness, saying, "It's nice to meet you. During this senior year, work hard with Megan and aim for good universities."

But then, Cameron suddenly said something that left us both stunned.

"You're being so nice to me. It must be an instinctive reaction, right?"

Jackson and I exchanged a bewildered look.

Cameron paused, her eyes welling up.

"I heard you're allergic to seafood. I am, too.

"It's really ingrained in our genes, isn't it? It can't be changed."

With that, she wiped her tears and walked away, leaving Jackson and me utterly confused.

I was Megan Fox, the only child of my parents and the future heir to the Fox Group.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away due to illness, and Jackson, focusing on his career, had hired a nanny to take care of my daily needs.
