Chapter 3

The morning after Gideon received news of the invasion, Luara decided to take a walk to the fields to see the flowers. She wanted to clear her mind and take a break from the stress of the impending war. A soldier accompanied her for protection.

As they walked, Luara could not help but marvel at the stunning scenery around her. The fields were awash with a riot of colors, with flowers of every hue swaying in the gentle breeze. The sun shone brightly in the sky, casting a warm glow over everything around them.

Luara breathed in deeply, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. For a moment, she forgot about the battle they had just fought and the dangers that still lurked ahead. The beauty of the natural world around her had a way of soothing her soul.

However, her moment of peace was short-lived. The soldier suddenly tensed and turned towards her, his expression grave. "I have to go," he said abruptly, before rushing off to attend to some urgent matter.

Luara was left alone, the sudden solitude jarring her from her reverie. She looked around, feeling a little lost and disoriented. Without the soldier to guide her, she didn't know where she was or how to get back to the safety of the kingdom.

Luara continued her walk, hoping that the tranquility of the field would keep her mind occupied. But as she walked further, she began to feel restless. She could not shake off the feeling that something was wrong.

After a few minutes of walking, she found herself at the edge of the kingdom, looking out over the vast expanse of land. She could see the mountains in the distance and the endless sky above.

As she turned to walk back, she spotted a lake at the edge of the field. She had never seen it before, and it piqued her curiosity. She walked towards it, the sound of the water lapping at the shore growing louder with each step.

When she reached the lake, she saw her reflection in the crystal-clear water. Luara dipped her hands into the cool water of the lake, feeling the refreshing sensation wash over her.

The morning sun was just starting to rise, casting a warm glow over the peaceful scene. As she splashed her face with the water, she heard a rustling noise coming from the bushes nearby.

She quickly turned her head and hid behind a nearby bush, watching as a man emerged from the underbrush.

The man was an imposing figure, towering over most people with his impressive height and muscular physique. His long, tangled hair fell in unruly locks around his face, adding to his rugged and wild appearance.

His clothes were torn and tattered, as if he had been through a rough ordeal, with dirt and grime clinging to the fabric. Despite his unkempt appearance, there was a certain air of strength and resilience about him, as if he had weathered many storms and emerged stronger for it.

Blood stained his shirt, and he clutched at his side, wincing in pain.

Luara watched as the man stumbled towards the river, collapsing onto the bank. She hesitated for a moment, but her curiosity got the better of her. Slowly and cautiously, she crept towards the injured stranger, her eyes fixed on his haggard form.

She could see that he was in immense pain, his ragged breathing echoing in the stillness of the woods.

Luara took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest, as she drew nearer to the injured man. Her compassionate nature urged her to help him. She felt a sense of urgency and knew she could not leave him there.

"Are you alright?" she asked him, cautiously, hoping to get some answers.

The man looked up at her with a mixture of surprise and wariness, his eyes scanning her from head to toe. His tall frame and muscular build made him look even more intimidating. "Who are you?" he asked, his voice gruff.

"I'm Luara, from the WriteWar kingdom," she responded, extending her hand in a gesture of friendship, hoping to put him at ease.
