Chapter 2

Drog approached him tentatively, his eyes filled with a mix of admiration and concern. "Alpha Huran?"

Huran looked around at the destruction, a feeling of unease settling in his chest. This was not what he had wanted. But the damage was done, and the moonstone was still missing.

"We need to find the moonstone," he said to Drog, his voice heavy with regret. "We cannot leave without it."

Drog nodded in agreement, and the pack began to search the village. They combed through the rubble, searching for any sign of the moonstone.

The surviving soldier of the WriteWar kingdom ran through the dark forest, his eyes wide and alert for any sign of danger. The sound of his own rapid breathing echoed through the trees, as he pushed himself to run faster. The memory of the battle replayed in his mind, each detail etched into his memory with vivid clarity.

He had to tell his alpha, Gideon, what had happened. The fate of their kingdom hung in the balance. The soldier knew that every second counted, and he could not afford to waste any time. He dodged low-hanging branches and leaped over fallen logs, his senses on high alert for any hint of danger.

Finally, the soldier reached the towering palace walls. Gasping for breath, he pounded on the gates with all his might. After a few tense moments, the gates slowly creaked open, revealing a group of heavily armed guards.

"Alpha Gideon," the soldier gasped, "the battle... we were ambushed. We lost many men. The enemy has the upper hand."

Gideon was in his chambers, pacing back and forth when the soldier burst in.

"Alpha, HellSaint has invaded our village. They killed half of our people." the soldier said, gasping for breath.

Gideon's heart sank at the news. He knew that HellSaint was stronger and more powerful than WriteWar, but he had hoped that they could avoid a war.

"What are we going to do, Alpha?" the soldier asked, desperation evident in his voice.

Gideon shook his head. "We must prepare for war. We cannot let them get away with this."

As the soldier left to gather the troops, Gideon slumped into his throne, his mind racing with thoughts of what was to come. He knew that this war would not be easy, and he feared for the safety of his people.

But it wasn't just his people he was worried about. Gideon's only daughter, Luara, was the most beautiful girl in the kingdom. He loved her more than anything in the world and he feared for her safety in this upcoming conflict.

As Gideon was lost in thought, he failed to notice Luara's arrival in the room. "Father, what's wrong?" she asked, seeing the tears in his eyes.

Gideon's heart broke at the sight of his daughter. He knew that he had to be strong for her, but the grief he felt for his people was overwhelming.

"It's nothing, my dear," he said, trying to force a smile.

Luara wasn't fooled. She knew that something was wrong, and she would not let her father suffer alone.

"Please, Father. You can tell me anything," she pleaded, her eyes filled with concern.

Gideon took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he had to say. "HellSaint has invaded our kingdom, my child."

Luara's face paled at the news. "War?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Gideon nodded. "I'm afraid so. We must do everything we can to protect our people and our kingdom."

Luara hugged her father, tears streaming down her face. "I'm scared, Father. I don't want to lose anyone else."

Gideon held her tightly, the weight of the upcoming conflict bearing down on him. He knew that this war would not be easy, but he would do everything in his power to protect his people, and most importantly, his beloved daughter.
