Chapter 2

James's eyes lit up with excitement as he embraced Alivia tightly.

I had to interrupt their moment, prioritizing service above all else.

"Are you planning to consummate your marriage at this wedding, or will there be another ceremony?

"The total cost of this wedding, including venue setup, planning, and the banquet, is sixty-eight thousand eight hundred dollars. I'll give you a discount. Sixty thousand dollars is fine."

James's expression turned pained as he clenched his teeth.

"Charlotte, are you that short of money?"

"What else can I do? Do you expect me to organize your marriage? I'm not your mother. I shouldn't have to pay for it."

Alivia was generous at this time, "James, don't bother with her. It's only sixty thousand dollars."

James seemed relieved, saying, "It's better to have Alivia than someone so greedy."

Alivia quickly scanned my QR code on her phone.

"Make sure to write 'voluntary gift' in the transfer notes. I can't afford to be sued for fraud or extortion."

Alivia was so angry that she transferred me one million six hundred thousand dollars.

Seeing the sudden influx of zeros in my account made me smile.

She clung to James's arm as if fearing he'd be snatched away.

"Ms. Hanson, the worst thing in business is backtracking. We're clear on the money and goods, so please don't cause trouble for James in the future.

"If you dare to seduce him behind my back, I won't let you off easily!"

I nodded vigorously, "Don't worry!"

Who would bother with someone like that?

"To avoid any more trouble, shall we go get the certificate today?" I suggested in a flattering manner.

Alivia held her head high as she got into her Maserati with James.

And I followed slowly behind in my BYD.

When signing the divorce documents, I wrote my name decisively.

But James hesitated, appearing uncertain.
