Chapter 2

There was a crowd of reporters outside the door.

They came here to gossip about Gavin.

Gavin didn't like to bring me to public appearances, and no one had seen Mrs. Smith except people in her small circle.

A sharp-eyed reporter shouted, "It's her! The heroine of the car sex scandal!"

For a moment I was blinded by the flash.

They mistook me for Yuki.

Passersby stopped to watch the fun and pointed at me.

"How shameless! You deserve to be scolded for seducing a married man."

"How impatient she must be to do that in the garage. Is Mrs. Smith so old that Mr. Smith has held back for too long?"

More and more people came to amuse me, and their saliva sprayed on my face.

Gavin and Yuki did such a dirty thing, but I was here being looked down upon.

Why?

Standing at the door of the Smith family, I said loudly, "I am the old and ugly Mrs. Smith and we're going to divorce."

Unilateral announcement of divorce.

I opened my marriage certificate to prove my identity which I was going to take it to go through the divorce procedures.

All people immediately became silent.

There were only whispers, "Why does Mrs. Smith look so much like the woman who had sex in the car..."

"Could it be that Mr. Smith likes this kind of women? Is he a stamp collector..."

I knew Gavin was behind the door.

He never came out.

When I was about to leave, people automatically made way for me with sighs.

Gavin had held the image as loving his wife for many years, but now it completely collapsed.

I was homeless and could only go to my best friend's house.

After my father went bankrupt, he died of depression not long after, and left me some money.

At that time, Gavin's company encountered difficulties, and I gave him the money my father left me to help him.

I didn't expect that what I gave away was my own retreat.

My best friend asked me why I wanted to keep the baby. It would be better to abort it with such a scumbag father.

I pretended to be relaxed and said that Gavin had good genes, and his looks and academic qualifications were impeccable, so it was a good fit to leave the father and keep the kid.

Gavin likes children.

I had known this since my first pregnancy.

That was when Gavin loved me the most.

How could he not love me? He proposed to me three times before I agreed.

He said the luckiest thing in his life was marrying me.

Every day he would lie on my belly to listen to the fetal heartbeat and tell bedtime stories to the rice-sized baby.

I laughed at him for being stupid, but he didn't care at all.

He learned to cook soup and made pregnancy meals for me. We lived our small wedding room simply and happily.

I thought it was the beginning of a good life, but it turned out to be the end.

His business grew better and better, and he came home later and later.

In the past, whenever I cried, he would kiss away my tears lovingly, but gradually he just pretended not to see it.

He became increasingly dismissive of my ideas.

When he was drunk, he would treat me as a prostitute and say dirty words to me.

I gradually realized that the bright and clean boy in my memory was far away from me.

Only when I saw the burns left when he cooked soup for me could I confirm that the man lying next to me was really Gavin.

I was staying at my best friend's house to rest.

I thought Gavin would come all over the world to settle accounts with me.

Unexpectedly, Yuki was the first person to come here.

She blocked me at the gate of the community, raised her chin and said, "I'm pregnant. Old woman, don't bother him anymore."

Compared with Yuki, I was indeed old. No wonder Gavin liked her.

When I first met Yuki, she was still a little immature and rustic.

Now she was different from before. Gavin treated her like a rich girl.

I nodded. "Oh, that's good."

Yuki was surprised by my calmness, "Aren't you angry?"

I replied, "Why should I be angry? You should go and persuade Gavin to sign the divorce agreement."

Yuki looked a little embarrassed, "Do you know what Gavin said to me? He said you were like a dead fish in bed who was very boring."

Gavin didn't say this before.

He hugged me and said he liked my body and loved our love every night.

I smiled and said, "It's a pity that he had a crush on me for two years, pursued me for three years, proposed to me three times, and married me for five years."

Yuki was even more annoyed, "Gavin loves me now. He listens to me in everything. In fact, I am not pregnant, but I said I was, and he believed me. He wants to take me to the Smith family to take care of me tomorrow."

I touched my abdomen and felt warm.

I said calmly, "Do you want me to put up a banner to welcome you to the Smith family as a concubine?"

After all, Yuki had never experienced the harsh beatings of society.

Gavin doted on her, so she thought everyone had to flatter her.

Especially me, the defeated one.

She was furious, "No wonder Gavin leaves you. No man would want a shrew who is vicious and mean?"

I lowered my eyes to hide the emotions.

I used to be bad at talking and was not good at quarreling, but in recent years, Gavin forced me to quarrel and make a scene.

An exhausting marriage would really change people.

I didn't want to get entangled with Yuki anymore.

Flies didn't bite seamless eggs. Ultimately, it's Gavin's problem.

Gavin was so concerned about his reputation that he was willing to take Yuki home despite the scandal.

It seemed that he really valued their baby.

I went back home to pack up.

Gavin was back.

He opened the car door himself and carefully helped Yuki out of the car.

Madam Smith followed behind, looking at Yuki's belly and smiling lovingly.

What a warm family scene.

When I was pregnant before, I was called pretentious for not being able to bend down to clean the toilet.

Their faces changed when they saw me.

Gavin's eyes were a little evasive, "Why did you come back now?"

I looked him straight in the face and said, "This is my home. Why can't I come back?"

Gavin let go of Yuki's hand, "I just happen to have something to tell you."

Yuki bit her lip, looking displeased.

Gavin took me back to the room on the second floor, "Honey, Yuki is pregnant, I must bring her back."

I hadn't heard him call me like this for a long time.

Seeing that I didn't respond, he continued, "I know I owe you. Don't worry. She lives on the first floor and you live on the second floor. I won't let her disturb you."

I was so angry. "Gavin, do you really have to disgust me like this?"

Gavin suppressed his temper and coaxed me, "Honey, I need a child. If you don't give birth. Is it better to let someone give birth for you? Then you may rise the baby as your own."

I shook off his hand and took a deep breath, "Sign the divorce agreement. I'll promise to disappear from your sight completely."

Gavin's face changed and he grabbed my arm, "Don't even think about it. I won't sign it."

"If you let me go, I'll do what you want. Isn't that good?"

His voice sank, "Yana, I can leave you, while you can't leave me."

I felt a little sore in my eyes, and I quickly said, "You're hurting me."

I almost forgot that Gavin was always so paranoid.

In order to get into the same university as me, he wrote hundreds of question sets.

In order to save money for my birthday in college, he worked as a tutor during the day and delivered takeout at night, and he wore out several pairs of shoes.

When my parents did not agree to the marriage, he stood in the rain for two days and was hospitalized with pneumonia.

It was because of his paranoia that we had the subsequent entanglement.

I said word by word, "I don't love you anymore, Gavin."

I had been brewing these words in my throat for a long time, but I couldn't bear to say them out loud.

Now saying it loudly, I felt that there's a big hole in my heart.

Gavin was stunned for a moment, and suddenly kissed me fiercely.

My lips were scratched by his teeth and the taste of blood filled my mouth.

I pushed him away with all my strength, "Gavin, the indictment will be sent to your company."

It was okay that he didn't sign the divorce agreement. I would sue him.

When in love, people can overcome all difficulties, and the same went for leaving.

Gavin was panicked for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure, "Don't forget that I have the old house left by your father. Recently, the Smith family is interested in that piece of land and is planning to raze it and rebuild it."

I looked at him in shock.

He actually threatened me with the Combs family's ancestral home!
