Pregnant and in pain, I rushed to the hospital alone at night, only to witness my husband, Gavin Smith, wheeled into the emergency room naked with another woman. The next morning, the internet exploded with news of their scandalous car suffocation incident. While the world envies me as Gavin's beloved first love, I am forced to accept a devastating reality: the twenty-eight-year-old billionaire before me is no longer the devoted boy who cherished me when we were eighteen.

Sir, Our Marriage Is But A Shattered Dream! Chapter 1

I was pregnant with Gavin Smith's child.

When I went to the hospital alone for emergency treatment in the middle of the night due to abdominal pain during pregnancy, I ran into Gavin and a woman being sent to the emergency room naked.

The next day, the news exploded on the Internet, saying that Mr. Smith and his mistress had sex in the car and almost died of suffocation in the garage.

I touched my belly which was not yet showing any signs of pregnancy, and my body trembled a little.

Everyone says that I am Gavin's first love and his most beloved wife.

But I knew that the 28-year-old Gavin was no longer the boy who loved me deeply when he was 18.

When he came home late, his white shirt was stained with long hair that didn't belong to me, and I had never seen his underwear before.

A beautiful young female college student had just joined Gu's company. My friend said that the girl looked a bit like me and reminded me to keep a close eye on Gavin.

I went to watch it secretly, and she indeed looked like me when I was young.

When I confirmed my pregnancy, I gave the divorce agreement to Gavin.

He was so angry that he threw me on the bed and asked me, "What are you crazy about?"

It was two days later that Gavin returned from the hospital.

He looked haggard as he took off his ill-fitting coat and threw it on the sofa.

He said to me, "Run a bath."

He said nothing about where he had been during the past two days.

I didn't respond.

Gavin came over and snatched the book from my hand, "I'm talking to you! You're always reading books all day. Can books be eaten or used as money?"

If he looked down, he would see that I was reading a parenting book.

I looked up at him and said, "Didn't you like me reading books the most?"

Gavin said sarcastically, "How can you compare your current appearance with your past?"

He made no secret of his disdain.

After we got married, seeing that I was running around outside, he asked me to quit my job and stay at home.

I cooked for him in different ways every day. The fumes turned my face yellow and my once delicate and white hands became rough and hard.

At first he felt sorry for me and ate up all the food.

But later on, he started to find fault with the food I cooked and complained that it was not tasty.

I thought the food was really bad, so I read through cookbooks to learn the most difficult dishes, but he never praised the food for being delicious again.

Looking at Gavin quietly, there was only disgust on his face without any warmth.

I brought up the matter of divorce, "Sign the divorce agreement if it's convenient. It's not good for either of us to drag it out."

Gavin's face was frighteningly gloomy.

"Yana, how long are you going to make such a fuss? I provide you with food and clothing. What gives you the confidence to divorce me?"

I smiled and said, "Haven't you already found a replacement? I can make room for her."

Gavin was stunned for a moment, then immediately realized that I was talking about Yuki.

She was a college girl who looked like me.

He took Yuki to our school, walked along the path where we had our date, and squatted down to tie her shoelaces.

He did everything for her that he had done for me before.

The look in his eyes when he looked at Yuki was exactly the same as the look that he looked at me when he was eighteen years old.

Gavin did not sign the divorce agreement in the end.

Instead, he asked Madam Smith to stay here for a while, saying that she was taking care of me, but actually she was just monitoring me.

Gavin didn't tell her that I wanted a divorce.

Madam Smith was a bitch who only cooked when Gavin was at home.

She never cooked when Gavin's not at home, under the pretext of helping me lose weight.

In the past, I would have endured it.

But now, I turned around and ordered a table of star-rated takeout.

She looked at the receipt on the takeout bag and said I was a spendthrift.

She even called me a hen that didn't lay eggs.

I stroked my belly and smiled coldly. If I hadn't had a miscarriage while accompanying Gavin in starting a business, my child would have been old enough to help me with cooking.

But it's not too late now.

Gavin came home early, contrary to his usual behavior. When I entered the house, Madam Smith was scolding me.

"No wonder Gavin has an affair. It's because you is not virtuous enough to keep him, isn't it?"

It turned out that she also knew Yuki.

I was so disappointed that I said sarcastically, "We're in 21st century rather than the old society. Mom, are you still thinking about foot binding?"

Gavin didn't say anything when I was scolded. However, when he saw that I retorted, he ordered me to apologize,

"Yana, apologize to mom and stop using your shrewish ways on her."

Sure enough, I was the only outsider in the Smith family, and they were all united.

When my family was well off, we often had to support the Smith family and also had to take their poor self-esteem into consideration.

They were always ungrateful.

I couldn't help but sneer.

I laugh at myself for being so stupid back then, believing that love was more important than anything else and insisting on marrying Gavin despite my parents' objections.

Not only did he not give me betrothal gifts, I also used my own savings to buy a house for the marriage.

I looked at Gavin and said, "You can't even admit your mistakes. If you were a man, you should sign the divorce agreement right away so your mother won't have to suffer."

Gavin looked at me in disbelief.

In the five years since we got married, I had hardly ever disobeyed him and had done my best to please his families.

Madam Smith was shocked and angry.

When I turned to leave, I heard she was asking Gavin, "Did she really ask for a divorce? When will you marry Yuki?"

It seemed that she was still unaware of the ugly thing Gavin had done.
