Seven Years of Love Cannot Defeat the Return of First Love
Chapter 2
Lorna hesitated for a moment, surprised that I was breaking up with her.
She squinted, coldly saying, "You have three seconds to apologize, and I will forgive you."
She thought I was joking.
She was wrong. I was serious.
"I'll say it again. We're breaking up tonight."
I said it loudly enough for Allen and the others to hear and feel my resolve.
Suddenly, Lorna sneered, "Reginald Shaffer, I've known you long enough. You really want to leave me?"
She thought she had me figured out.
She thought I still loved her and would not break up with her.
I glanced casually at Allen, snorted, and walked out of the private room.
This was it.
There was no point in staying with her. I was not at her beck and call.
Lorna chased after me, taunting, "If you walk away, I will never talk to you again."
"If I ever talk to you again, I will be damned," I shot back.
Lorna stomped her feet in frustration, cursing me.
Back home, I found the place in disarray.
What infuriated me more was the used condoms in the trash.
I wrinkled my nose in disgust and walked away.
I couldn't stay here anymore, afraid I'd throw up.
I made a call, having someone come clean the house and change the locks.
I threw all her stuff outside, ready to tell her to come pick it up.
Then I saw Lorna's recent post half an hour ago. It was a photo.
She and Allen were embracing. The caption was [Welcome Allen back home].
Another unread message flashed on my screen.
I swiped to open the group chat, where Lorna was chatting with classmates.
[Lorna, aren't you afraid Reginald will get mad seeing you cozy with Allen?]
Lorna: [He won't. Remember last time when he got mad at me? He couldn't stand it and came to apologize within three days.]
Her friends: [Haha, let's see how many days this lapdog apologizes this time.]
Lorna: [Not even three days. I won't go back these days. Let him worry.]
I read their conversation, quietly amused.
How arrogant she was!
She was just a loose woman.
I glanced at the trash piled outside and texted her to come pick it up when she had time.
I bought this house, just because her new job was far from where she used to live.
I pitied her for commuting on crowded subways and buses.
So, I bought her a downtown apartment and even a sports car.
Now, I took them all back.
I instructed my assistant to change the locks.
Before long, Lorna started calling repeatedly.
