Chapter 1

Because I was being picked up and dropped off in a luxury car, my roommates started rumors on the campus forum, accusing me of being a kept woman. They led others in isolating me.

My boyfriend called me shameless, only to turn around and hook up with one of my roommates.

The two of them even announced their engagement in a grand way.

But wait, why does the luxurious villa they got engaged in look so much like the one my family owns?

——

"Did you see the campus forum? About Sophia, Sophia Quinn! That girl is really shameless!"

"Yeah, I saw it! I always wondered why she was getting picked up in luxury cars. Turns out she's in ‘that’ line of work. Do you think she might have some nasty diseases?"

"She’s disgusting. She doesn’t even mind being with someone that old."

As soon as class ended, I overheard a group of people standing by the door, having an intense discussion.

The moment they saw me, they gave me a sideways glance, as if they’d seen something filthy, then hurried off.

I quickly opened the campus forum and saw that the top trending post was titled "Female Student at Our College Becomes a Slave to Money."

The attached images were of me getting out of different luxury cars.

Every comment under the post was filled with insults.

"I can't believe our college has someone like this. She should be expelled before she ruins the college's reputation."

"Disgusting, selling her body for money."

"She always acts so high and mighty, but behind the scenes, she's just a rich man's pet."

"I suggest the college deal with her seriously. Being in the same college with someone like her is a stain on our reputation."

My grip tightened around my phone. This was clearly a deliberate smear campaign.

Just as I was about to find someone to track down the person spreading these rumors, a group of students hurried past me.

"Did you see that Ferrari at the campus gate? I heard Serena gave it to Zachary."

"Yeah, Serena’s supposedly the daughter of the richest family, the Sinclairs. I'm so jealous of Zachary for getting in with the wealthiest."

My heart tightened.

The richest family’s daughter? Serena?

Serena was my roommate and we never got along. She always made snide, passive-aggressive comments toward me.

And Zachary—he was my boyfriend. After we met at a campus event, he pursued me fiercely.

I was moved by his sincerity and agreed to give dating a try.

But I never expected that in just a month, he would be sneaking around with Serena behind my back.

From a distance, I saw a crowd gathered at the campus gate. Even before I got close, I could hear the endless flattery.

"Zachary, this car is amazing! Must’ve cost a fortune!"

"Man, you’re so lucky, finding a girlfriend like Serena."

"So Serena's the real hidden rich girl, huh? That Sophia, who’s supposedly a kept woman, can’t even compare."

Just then, someone in the crowd noticed me, let out a snicker and the others turned to look, parting to make way for me.

Zachary froze when he saw me, then sneered and turned away, pulling Serena closer.

Serena raised an eyebrow, flashing a smug, triumphant smile.

"Sophia, why are you here? If I had known, I wouldn't have let Zachary be so flashy. Now that my identity’s out, I’m sure it hurts your pride, right?"

She giggled, covering her mouth like a typical mean girl.

I looked coldly at Zachary and pointed at Serena.

"Zachary, couldn't wait to line up your next option before we even broke up?"

Zachary lifted his chin arrogantly and looked at me with disdain.

"Sophia, since you’re here, let’s wrap this up and go our separate ways. Don’t hang around any longer. Everyone’s heard about your little scandal and honestly, just seeing you makes me sick."

My expression hardened as I looked at the couple’s affectionate display, feeling a wave of nausea.

"You’d better not regret this."

Serena chuckled lightly.

"Sophia, the one who should be regretting is you. See that car? It’s a global limited edition. Even if you spent your life as someone’s mistress, you couldn’t afford it."

The crowd joined in the mockery.

"Exactly, Sophia. Serena is the daughter of the Sinclair Family from our city. What do you have to compare with her?"

"Do you actually think that being a gold-digger and whispering sweet nothings will get someone to stand up for you?"

"I think she’s just envious."

The crowd taunted me, each person adding their voice to the chorus.

Meanwhile, Zachary, basking in the crowd’s envious gazes, embraced Serena and got into the car.

They drove off, leaving me behind.

I looked at the license plate and sneered.

The Sinclair Family’s daughter? Since when did my dad have another daughter?
