Chapter 3

Helena

“Samuel,” my voice was barely audible. “Don’t do it!”

I tried to move forward, but two guards immediately grabbed my arms. Hard. No mercy.

They used to swear to protect me. Now, their faces are full of hate, like I'm a plague that must be exterminated.

Liora’s laughter cut through the air. “You won’t be able to move, traitor!”

She tilted her head and swept her hair away from her neck.

By blood bond, my body would feel the rejection, burning from within—until I was severed.

And Samuel knew that. He chose this deliberately.

Samuel’s claws glowed with a silver aura, then he bowed his head. Kissing Liora’s pulse.

A faint bond began to form between them—a network of energy flowing from heart to heart. I felt it.

I screamed, “Samuel! Stop it! I didn’t betray! This is Liora’s trap-I was dragged into it!”

But he didn’t care. Liora’s blood ran down his jaw. A bond was formed.

My body trembled violently. It’s suffocating. The heat radiates, breaking my soul from within. My breath was ragged. The world is spinning.

The energy bond that once tied my soul to Samuel began to tear. And the pain wasn’t just physical. It was a spiritual insult.

“They’re a perfect match!”

“Impressive. Both come from the pure blood of the silver pack.”

“We can’t wait for Samuel’s Alpha coronation tomorrow and to see Liora become Luna!”

All the wolves cheered joyfully for them.

Liora laughed loudly, showing off the claw marks on her neck. “Thank you, my Alpha.”

Meanwhile, I clutched my chest. My breath was short. Alone. Sitting on the floor, pitiful, with no one caring.

Until Samuel steps toward me.

I look up. I see no regret or pity in his eyes as he watches me nearly break.

Only the coldness of strangers. “I did it on purpose. That’s your punishment, Helena. Because you’ve become an omega who doesn’t know her place."

His harsh words spread quickly into my heart. Channeling the heat. My eyes and Samuel’s locked directly.

“We’re done. I reject you as my mate. From today onward, you’re nobody!” he continued, officially ending our bond.

“Get out quickly, I don’t want to see your face again!” Elder Elira smiled crookedly.

My fist clenched tightly. I still felt the pain. The wolf within me was forced to sleep.

But I didn’t cry.

Because tears are my honor. And they don’t deserve it.

As the daughter of the Alpha King, I have the power to turn the tide of the Silver Moon pack!

Everything has ended.

Now I have fully realized— If the four years I spent fighting for Samuel and this pack—were all in vain.

And my family was completely right about their views on Samuel all along.

Gripping the deer skin of exile, I used my remaining strength to leave this dreadful place immediately.

My steps faltered until a large figure blocked my path.

“I’ve been waiting for you,” the voice was cold, deep, and firm—Liora’s older brother, Beta Kaylen.

I stared at him blankly. As if I had no energy to confront him. “Kaylen, move aside. What now?”

“By the elders’ command, you must be sworn in.”

I took a step back, not out of fear—but out of anger, disgust.

Once, my name was whispered with admiration. I was the only omega who played a significant role in the pack. And I had also succeeded in winning the heart of the future leader—Samuel. My voice was heard in meetings, my presence respected.

Now, Kaylen speaks to me as if I were merely a threat. Not family. Not part of them.

He and Liora... equally irritating to me.

“What oath?”

He showed me the claw mark on his hand. Black and shiny. A symbol of blood ties that would seal the secret forever. If I signed it, I would never be able to reveal anything about the Silver Moon Pack.

“I’m no longer considered part of this pack,” I muttered, “Why are you still afraid I’ll spill the beans? I just want to leave quickly!”

Kaylen’s face hardened. “So you’re really eager to meet the enemy pack, are you?”

I just sighed briefly. “Step aside and let me through.”

“You know too much. And you could cause major trouble for this pack in the future.”

I just laughed softly.

Kaylen seemed to be holding back. “You have no choice, Helena. Give your blood seal, swear with your claws... or you will be considered a threat to the entire pack.”

I almost chose to walk past him and leave.

But suddenly Kaylen pulled something from behind my dress—a black metal pendant, cold and heavy.

“What is this?” he muttered suspiciously, his fingers touching its surface. A dark aura immediately spread from the object.

He immediately called out, “Samuel! Do you know how to open this? Something’s wrong here!”

Samuel approached, staring intently at the pendant. “I don’t know. Open this thing, Helena!”

“Give it back! Don’t touch it, it’s mine! You’re not even worthy of touching it!” I said, trying to grab it from Samuel.

But Samuel wouldn’t let me. He lifted it high instead.

“You must be hiding another secret of betrayal inside it, that’s why you don’t want to open it, right?”

Samuel’s accusation made me sick.

Samuel turned to me. “Open it, quickly!”

I gave in. I touched it with my finger. The pendant lit up—projecting the symbol of a red-eyed wolf.

Samuel froze. “The symbol of the Ironshade pack?”

All the wolves fell silent.
