Rejecting The Alpha Who Accompanies His Ex
Chapter 2
Charlie's POV
I tossed the phone aside, switching the group chat silent. I took a cold shower until I calmed down and flopped on the bed.
“Healer Penelope, I want abortion.” I made a call, taking the final decision.
“Luna…” She tried to say something but could not find the right words. Maybe she saw everything too.
“Okay. I will schedule everything.” She said.
“Good.” I hung up the call, opening my laptop, preparing everything to participate as a volunteer in the frontline.
It was always my dream, I wanted to be like my father and brother who carried out the family legacy. But I let it go after getting married to Jenson. I wanted to be a qualified Luna and a loving wife. But in the end, I was still the second best and I hated it.
“Since he has others now, my existence is no longer important.” I mumbled, filling the application.
Meanwhile, Jenson entered inside, beaming with happiness. His hand was still checking baby products on his phone.
“What are you doing?” His eyes were still glued on the phone.
“Applying in the frontline.” I said deliberately to notice his reaction. But as usual, Jenson didn't even pay any attention.
“Okay.” With this, he again grossed into his phone.
The silence was too heavy for us to bear. His hand habitually reached to get the almond milk I prepared for him everyday but found the cup empty.
“Charlie, why is this empty?” he frowned, finally looking up from the screen.
“I didn't make it.” I said bluntly.
Jenson furrowed his eyebrows, the hint of irritation cleared in his voice, “Charlie, what's wrong with you?”
“Where were you last night?” There was no need to play the role of a loving wife. Everything was scattered by Jenson himself.
“So this is it.” He acted as if he discovered my little secret, “I was with Ashley. She is back in our pack. You know, as an Alpha of the pack, it's my duty to take care of every member.”
“Even to feed her children falls on your duty?” I no longer cared about anything.
Jenson ran his hand through his hair, frustrated. He groaned, “Charlie, don't be so petty. He is still a child. Ashley just divorced her husband but that child still needs his father.”
“So, you fulfil that duty.” I let out a dry laughter.
“Charlie, can you not start again?” He was running out of patience but a ring on his phone stopped us from going on.
Sure enough! It was from Ashley.
She sounded pitiful and innocent, “Jenson, can you please come? Ave doesn't want to sleep and is crying.”
Jenson looked at me. Guilt washed over his face. I looked away, knowing his decision.
“Okay I am coming.” He hung up the call and moved closer to me to explain but I pulled the quilt, lied down pretending to sleep, sparing him no chance.
My half opened eyes traced Jenson’s back as he was leaving.
I never heard anything from Jenson after that. Later in the evening, my phone buzzed with a notification.
It was sent by Fedrick, Jenson's Beta.
[Luna, Alpha Jenson is doing his duty. You should understand him.]
Understand my ass! I shrugged my shoulders, shutting the phone off.
But the peaceful time didn't last long, when I opened the group chat again.
I promised myself last night that I would never look at it, but my muscles moved on its own.
Ashley sent another photo last night.
[Thanks to Jenson for singing the lullaby. He can be a great father.]
In the photo, they were in the same bed. Between Ashley and Jenson, Ave, Ashley's son was sleeping, holding Jenson’s hand.
Everyone was prasining once again.
Some even found Ave resembled Jenson, hinting that Jenson might have cheated on me and had a secret relationship with Ashley.
Unconditional love had no meaning but sadness.
The sobbing sound was loud, vulnerability gushed over me when I dove my eyes in the pillow and weep until my eyes were red.
After draining out my emotion, I chose to think of myself only.
[Congratulations! You guys should stay together.]
This was the last comment I sent on the group chat before turning my phone off, I packed my back.
I wanted to travel with my child for the last time before letting it go.
“Baby, mamma can't keep you this time.”
I cried, before leaving I placed my most cherished wedding ring on the bedside table.
I travelled for two days in the countryside. During that time, I felt like I was alive again. Never turning on my phone, I kept myself away from the chaos.
Later, when I took the high speed train to come back, Healer Penelope sent me an email on my laptop. She scheduled the abortion procedure but needed Jenson's signature.
I turned on my mobile and called her.
“Why is Jenson's signature needed?” My voice was rough.
“Luna, Jenson is the alpha of our pack, we have to confirm it from him.” I could feel how much she was sweating by her voice.
I pursed my lips into a thin line as my heart sank.
