Rejecting The Alpha Who Accompanies His Ex
Chapter 3
Charlie's POV
“Okay.” I replied dimly, trying not to add more worries on the Healer.
I looked outside the door of the train, the track was as lonely as myself.
When I reached home, no one was there as usual. I entered my room and encountered the same tangerine scent.
“Ashely was here!” I frowned, clenching my fists. So Jenson didn't leave our bedroom either. As I was thinking hard, I stumbled on something. Picking up, it was a panty which didn't belong to me. A woman’s panty in our bedroom. I almost went crazy in anger but no tears came out of my eyes anymore.
“So they stooped that much low.” I threw the panty aside and lit a scented candle to get rid of the disgusting smell.
When I finally relaxed, I opened the group chat. There was again the same gossip.
“So, Alpha Jenson finally ditched Luna?”
“Of course, she was just a distraction. Alpha Jenson always had a soft spot for Ashley, he still has.”
“Distraction?” I repeated the word, my heart was pained so much like it was being pierced by a knife.
I didn't want to think anymore and took two sleeping pills.
The next morning, I woke up as usual and prepared to go to my office. Even if Jenson betrayed our relationship, I couldn't neglect my duty as a Luna. But to surprise, Jenson prepared breakfast– steamed beef bao and simp roll. He didn't ask me where I was either.
The aroma of the food broaded me there as I picked up the beef bao. As soon as I took a bite, Jenson held my hand shouting, “Charlie, it's not for you. You can have the simp roll.”
That was right! Only then did I remember that beef bao was Ashley's favourite.
I could not hold back my anger anymore, my voice cracked facing Jenson.
“Jenson, we have been married for five years. Didn't you know I can't have seafood?”
Tears rolled back my eyes, finally facing the man I loved unconditionally for the whole damn seven years.
Jenson had an unusual expression on his face. He cleared his voice and reasoned with me, “Charlie, I'm sorry. Don't get mad, alright?”
“Where are you going? Let me drop you.”
“No, thank you for your kindness.” I frowned, pushing away his hands which was on my shoulder and went upstairs.
When I came back, I had a bag with me.
“Jenson, it's Ashley's. Return it to her.” I almost threw the bag on him.
Jenson caught it quickly, after finding the panty, he looked down. Guilt and fear took over his eyes.
“It was here.”
I nodded, and didn't probe further. I slid my hands under the coat and left.
Soon, I drifted into work. Since I was leaving, I couldn't put my pack members in any difficulties.
I sorted out everything about security and financial data which I was in charge of and explained to my subordinate.
Overworked, I could finally forget Jenson and Ashley.
But soon, Beta Fedrick called me, “Luna, come to the Assembly Hall.”
Assembly Hall was not something which summoned anyone casually. Since they asked me to go there, it must be important.
I quickly drove there. But the situation was rare. It was nothing but Ashely’s returning of the pack. The elders and members were present there.
Behind the large wooden table, Jenson was sitting with Fedrick. He still had pride, his pride was bigger and more important than mine.
I wanted to laugh, watching the drama.
“Ashely Morris, who divorced her husband from another pack, wanted to come back in our Pecher Moon Pack. Hope no one had any objection.” Jenson cleared the air.
“What about you Luna?” Nana Jen, an Elder, asked, looking at me.
She looked helpless, after all everyone could witness the hypocrisy.
I was leaving anyway, my opinion didn't value anything.
I shrugged my shoulders, “No problem.”
I set aside the crowd, resting my face on my palm, enjoying the view outside when Jenson handed me over a sugar-coated strawberry.
“Here, have it.” Jenson insisted, “You used to beg me for this.”
Looking at the candy, I recalled the past when I asked Jenson to get me some sugar-coated strawberries.
“Charlie, how old are you? Remember you are already thirty. Grow up.”
Remembering them, I didn't want it anymore.
“Oh.” I mumbled, still looking outside. Getting no answer from me, Jenson spoke again.
“I have something to discuss with the Elders. After that let's leave together.”
He left quickly. After fifteen minutes, I heard Ashley's voice, giggling and running behind Jenson like a little girl.
“Jenson, look at you. How can I have so much?” Her hand was filled with different types of candies.
I chuckled, putting aside the candy, I left.
Jenson followed me, “Wait up. Why don't you have it?”
“Jenson, I'm empty stomach. Having the candy will hurt my body.” My voice gave no emotion, “Have fun, I can leave alone.”
Coming home, I packed everything. After abortion, I would leave forever.
Jenson came around 10 PM and noticed the half-empty wardrobe while taking his pajama. His brows were knotted for a moment before relaxing, but he didn't ask anything.
“We are going to the Silver Jest Pack for a business trip, want to tag along?” He asked, wiping his wet hair.
“No, thanks.” I focused on my work, ignoring his existence.
Jenson was furious. He snatched away my laptop.
“Charlie, what's wrong with you?” He hissed in anger, “Can you stop acting like this?”
“I already told you that Ashley can't be alone with her son. She had no family here, no one. As her friend I should accompany her. Why are you being petty?” He growled.
“I didn't even say anything.” I looked at him, irritated, “Jenson, do whatever you want. It doesn't concern me.”
I snatched the laptop back from his hand and glued my eyes on the screen.
“Don't come to disturb me.” Saying the last sentence, I focused on my work again.
“Charlie, you grew your fang too much these days.” Jenson gritted his teeth, trying hard to suppress his anger.
“If I leave here right now, remember I will never look back, even if you beg me to come.”
Jenson thought so highly of himself. After all, it was not his fault. All these years, I gave him my unconditional love, taking care of him and loving him became my habit whereas he took everything for granted.
“Jenson, can you stop now?” I didn't have anything for him anymore. For some reason, I didn't hate him either.
My feelings for him became numb. Jenson’s sandalwood pheromone scattered everywhere in the room again, suffocating the last bit of breath of mine.
“Charlie, you remember this.” Clutching his fist, he grabbed his phone before leaving the door with a loud bang.
The night Jenson spent in his cabin, no one went there to look for him.
For the first time, I did not humble myself in front of his feet and begged mercy.
Everytime Jenson scolded me and gave me cold shoulder, it was my routine to please him. But now it was different.
Fedrick sent me a message later
[Luna, Alpha Jenson is already busy with so many things. Can you stop adding pain to his injury?]
Wow! Now even beta had the right to lecture me.
Tsk! I turned off the phone.
When I met Jenson the next day, his eyes were on the newspaper.
“Pick a venue and ready everything for a Welcome Party.”
