Rejected Luna's Ultimate Vengeance Chapter 1

The weekend arrived, and with it, the annual pack gathering—a grand event where the Blue Moon Pack showcased its strength and unity. As the Luna of the pack, I was expected to attend, though the tension between Julian, our Alpha, and me had been simmering for weeks. The gathering was held in the grand hall of our pack’s territory, a modern, sprawling building that blended seamlessly with the city around us. The air buzzed with the energy of werewolves mingling, their auras clashing and mingling in a dance of dominance and submission.

Julian stood at the center of it all, his broad shoulders and imposing frame commanding attention. His dark eyes scanned the room, lingering on Aleyna Price, his Beta, who stood at his side like a shadow. Aleyna was young, ambitious, and utterly convinced of her own importance. She smirked when she caught my eye, her gaze filled with a challenge I had no intention of backing down from.

The auction was the highlight of the evening, a tradition meant to raise funds for the pack’s warriors and healers. The painting up for bidding was a stunning piece, a depiction of a lone wolf howling at the moon, its symbolism impossible to ignore. Both Aleyna and I gravitated toward it, our eyes locking as we silently declared our intent.

“Luna Celine,” Aleyna said, her voice dripping with false sweetness, “do you really think you’re in a position to compete with me?”

I raised an eyebrow, my lips curving into a cool smile. “Beta Aleyna, I wasn’t aware we were competing. But if you insist, I’ll gladly indulge you.”

Julian stepped forward, his alpha aura pressing down on everyone in the room. “Celine,” he said, his voice sharp and commanding, “this isn’t the time for petty rivalries. Aleyna has proven herself to the pack. Don’t embarrass yourself.”

I tilted my head, meeting his gaze without flinching. “Alpha Julian, I’m merely participating in the auction. If that’s an embarrassment to you, perhaps you should reflect on why.”

The room fell silent, the weight of my words hanging in the air. Julian’s jaw tightened, but he said nothing. Aleyna, however, couldn’t resist. “Luna Celine,” she said, her tone mocking, “you’ve been nothing but a figurehead. What makes you think you have the right to challenge the Alpha’s decisions?”

I snapped my fingers at the auctioneer, my voice calm but firm. “Whatever Alpha Julian bids, I’ll go... one dollar higher.”

The crowd erupted into murmurs, their laughter and whispers filling the room. “The Luna must be out of her mind! Challenging the Alpha in public? Does she know her place?”

“She’s nothing but a pretty face. Without Alpha Julian, she’d be nothing.”

“I heard she was mated to him out of necessity. No wonder he favors Beta Aleyna.”

Julian’s expression darkened, and he stepped forward, his alpha tone cutting through the noise. “Celine Webb, lower your hand. You’re making a fool of yourself.”

I reclined in my chair, my gaze steady. “Alpha Julian, I’m still your Luna. I’d appreciate it if you spoke to me with the respect my position demands.”

“You’re nothing more than a pawn in this pack,” he snapped, his voice rising. “I share no bond with you!”

I sighed deeply, my wolf stirring within me, its voice a quiet growl of defiance. “Alpha Julian, are you really going to fight me over Beta Aleyna today?”

When we’d entered the hall, I’d noticed the seating arrangements. As the Luna, I should have been at Julian’s side, but instead, I’d been relegated to a distant corner. I’d tolerated it, primarily because Jerry Thomas, the former Alpha and Julian’s father, had always been kind to me. But tonight, the disrespect was too blatant to ignore.

Aleyna smirked, her voice cutting through the tension. “Luna Celine, I suggest you give up. If Alpha Julian gets upset, your life might not be so cozy.”

Her laughter echoed around the room, joined by others who found her boldness amusing. I remained unfazed, my voice calm but laced with steel. “Beta Aleyna, you’re mistaken. Unlike you, I don’t need a man’s permission to assert my worth.”

The room erupted into laughter, the sound grating against my ears. “This Luna is full of herself! Without Alpha Julian, she’d be nothing.”

“Exactly. She’s only here because of her title. Who would pay attention to her otherwise?”

Aleyna’s smirk widened, her eyes gleaming with triumph. “See? I told you, when a woman has no power, she should obediently stay in her place. You must feel embarrassed now, don’t you?”

Before she could finish her taunt, I calmly raised my paddle. “Who says I’m backing down?”

“It’s just money. I have plenty of it.”

The auctioneer hesitated, glancing between Julian and me. The tension in the room was palpable, but I refused to back down. My wolf growled softly, its presence a reminder of the strength I carried within me.

Julian’s voice cut through the silence, sharp and commanding. “Celine Webb, you’re crossing a line. Don’t make me regret keeping you in this pack.”

I met his gaze, my voice steady. “Alpha Julian, the only one who should regret anything here is you. But don’t worry—I’ll make sure you understand exactly why.”
