Chapter 2

The nightmares of my previous life were vivid in my mind.

I took a deep breath and cleared my mind.

"Oh no, it is a heart disease! Your child has a heart disease..."

I sighed and looked at the report card repeatedly.

"What? Is it heart disease... difficult to be treated?" Kate leaned forward with her face full of worry.

"Yes...but... "

I changed the subject and paused.

"Come on, hurry up. Oh, I'm so anxious." She patted her thigh and looked at me angrily.

"Don't be angry, Kate. Let Natalya finish her words." John, Kate's husband, pulled Kate and comforted her.

I coughed lightly, saying, "It can be treated, but I can't guarantee that it will be cured."

"How can a doctor who can't cure patients work here for seven or eight years?"

Kate glanced at me with some disdain.

Even though I held overwhelming hatred for her, I didn't show my emotion at that moment.

"Then...should I keep this child?" She bit her lip, seeming a bit conflicted. Then she turned to look at John and then at me, acting as if waiting for my decision.

"What a joke. I exerted great efforts to save this child for her in my previous life, and she killed me."

"I won't care about her for the rest of my current life."

"I will let go and let her destiny call the shots."

"Kate, the child is yours, so it's up to you to decide."

I smiled and tapped a pen in my hands.

I calmly took a sip of coffee.

"You're a doctor. Why are you like this when we ask for your opinion? I will go back and talk to my Libby about it. She spoiled you so much."

"Whether I advise her to keep the baby or not, she will shirk responsibility on me. She just wants to shift the blame onto me."

I valued family affection and never argued with her. Now it came to this point, I no longer cared about family affection. After all, I didn't want to die again.
