One Night's Mistake With My Adopted Brother Chapter 1
Anna's P.O.V
“What the fuck, Anna?”
A roar ripped through the darkness, shattering my sleep. My eyes snapped open, adjusting to the dim moonlight filtering through the blinds.
Panic surged through me as I realized I wasn't in my own bed.
With scattered senses, I took in my surroundings – Polished wood accents adorned the walls, complementing the refined gray rug on the floor.
It was then I felt the cold sheets clinging to my skin. My stomach tightened into knots. I was naked. In Simon's room.
“You fucking whore!”
My head jerked up towards the sound and I trembled as I saw Simon tensely sitting in the armchair facing the bed. He’s my adopted brother.
Fury twisted his face into an ugly expression, his voice a low growl as he spat words I wouldn't repeat even in the privacy of my own head.
When he jumped to his feet, storming across the room in heavy thumping strides, I let out a scream. I hadn't ever seen my brother this angry and so I was terrified he was going to hit me.
"Don't you dare scream at me!" He roared, his voice thick with a disgust that twisted my insides. "You knew exactly what you were doing, playing your little games.”
Tears welled in my eyes, blurring his angry form that loomed over the bed. "Simon, I…" My voice cracked into a tiny whimper.
"Don't 'Simon' me!" He yelled, pointing a finger at me. "Last night, in that damn club, you seduced me…you…" He choked back a word, his face contorting further. "I thought you were Joanne. I thought…”
The tears that welled in my eyes began plopping down my face at his words. I hugged the sheets to myself, wanting to disappear into the mattress and never be found. I didn't mean for it to happen this way.
My eyes burned with hot tears as the memories of what had occurred last night in the club flooded my brain.
I hadn't wanted to go clubbing, I swear, it was my friend who had convinced me to ‘live a little,’ ‘have some fun.’
But I honestly wasn't having any fun. The club wasn't my type of scene, loud music that made my ears bleed, sweaty body pulling up against you, jostling you up and down.
I'd been making my exit when my eyes caught the broad shoulders figure slumped over his drink in the dark corner of the club.
For a moment I wasn't sure, thinking my eyes were deceiving me but the disco lights flashed in that direction again and in that moment, he raised his head and our eyes met.
My heart skipped a beat and I couldn't stop myself if I wanted. My discomfort forgotten, I moved across the club to where my adopted brother was and accepted the drink he offered me.
My senses were instantly filled with his wonderful cologne and male sweat, making my mouth go dry. Trying to be normal, we made a small talk, moving away from the thumping bass.
Simon gave me an enthusiastic response that was very different from the way he normally spoke to me, which made me feel happy and flattered.
Simon was adopted into our family when I was thirteen, and I declared to everyone that he was the love of my life like a fool.
Maybe it was the stupid childishness that made me admit it loudly, but over the years, my crush turned into something stronger that made my heart hurt whenever he ignored me.
I guess he knew my obsession for him and that was why he was always aloof with me.
So hearing him speak to me warmly tonight made my heart flutter. “So what are you doing here? Just drinking alone and watching people have fun ?” I asked him.
His full kissable mouth twisted into a grimace and he threw down more of his drink. “Fun…” he scoffed and squeezed his fist around his own neck. “Fun left my life when Joanne walked out on me in front of everyone.”
I gasped at his words, my eyes widening in surprise. “You don't mean—”
A derisive smile curled his lips. “I proposed to Joanne and she walked away. Didn't even say a damned word. She left me on my knees like a damn fool with everyone watching. Fuck!”
I found myself torn between emotions.
On one hand, I was filled with sadness and wanted to hug the man I'd loved from the sidelines for years, and tell him to give my elder sister some time.
And on the other hand, I wanted to cry out of jealousy because he clearly was in love with my sister.
I chose the former and hugged him, whispering into his ears about how my sister loves him very much and was probably not just ready.
It was hard to ignore his hard body, hugging me back but I tried anyway.
After that, we began talking about things I couldn't even remember, chugging shots and letting go of our inhibitions.
I didn't know who made the first move at the back of the taxi but the next thing I knew, his mouth and mine were kissing hotly, our hands roaming each other's body.
I remember vividly as he finger fucked me in the cab, whispering dirty words to me about how I loved that the taxi driver could hear and probably watch us.
We somehow arrived home and Simon was pumping his hips into my warmth but when he was coming, he groaned a name that tore me into pieces. “Yes, Joanne. Fuck that was so good. I love you!”
