Alpha's Deceit, Luna's Wrath Chapter 1

The Moonstone Alliance representatives arrived at dawn, their silver-trimmed vehicles glinting in the early light as they processed through Silvermoon Pack's ceremonial gates. I stood beside Thomas on the grand entrance steps, my Luna smile perfect, my posture impeccable. Fifteen years of practice had made this role second nature—the gracious hostess, the diplomatic bridge between packs, the supportive mate who made everything look effortless.

Marcus's coming-of-age ceremony was supposed to be our triumph. Our son, strong and confident at sixteen, would receive his Alpha blessing before the most influential wolves in the region. I'd spent months coordinating every detail, leveraging my father's bloodline connections to ensure the right witnesses attended. This ceremony would secure Marcus's future and demonstrate Silvermoon Pack's continued rise in pack politics.

But Thomas kept checking his phone.

I noticed it during the formal procession, when he should have been focused on our son's ceremonial walk to the Alpha Stone. A quick glance, his thumb swiping across the screen, his jaw tightening before he pocketed the device. Then again during Elder Morrison's blessing speech, and once more when Marcus shifted into his wolf form for the first time before the assembled packs—a moment I'd dreamed about since his birth, and Thomas was staring at his phone.

The scent hit me during the congratulatory reception. Jasmine and honey, clinging to Thomas's collar when he leaned in to whisper something about greeting the Crescent Moon delegation. Not my scent. My wolf stirred uneasily, her instincts sharpening. I'd been so busy with alliance politics and ceremony preparations that I hadn't paid attention to the small changes—Thomas's late nights in his office, his distracted touches, the way he'd stopped using our mind-link for casual conversation.

I excused myself with practiced grace, weaving through clusters of chatting wolves toward the garden paths. My Alpha-born senses tracked that jasmine-honey scent like a beacon, growing stronger as I moved away from the celebration's noise. The formal gardens gave way to the more secluded meditation groves, where pack members went for privacy.

I found them beneath the ancient oak where Thomas and I had pledged our mate bond twenty years ago.

Melanie Fox, our Omega caretaker, pressed against my mate's chest. Thomas's hand cradled her face with a tenderness I hadn't seen from him in years. They were kissing, and the sight should have shattered me, but instead, my wolf's fury crystallized into something cold and analytical. Because beneath the jasmine and honey, I detected something else—the sweet, distinctive scent of early pregnancy.

They broke apart when I stepped into the clearing. Melanie's eyes went wide with fear, her Omega instincts making her shrink behind Thomas. He had the audacity to look annoyed rather than ashamed, as if I'd interrupted something inconvenient rather than discovered his betrayal.

"Diana." His Alpha tone carried warning, as if he could command me to unsee this. "We need to talk."

"About how long you've been fucking our pack's Omega?" My voice stayed perfectly level. "Or about the fact that she's carrying your child?"

Melanie gasped. Thomas's expression shifted to calculation. Not denial. Not remorse. Just cold assessment of how to manage this situation.

"Go back to the ceremony," he told Melanie, his tone gentle in a way that made my chest ache. "Wait in your quarters. I'll explain everything to Diana."

She scurried away, leaving us alone beneath our mating tree. The irony wasn't lost on me.

"How long?" I asked.

"Eight months." He said it like a business report. "It started during the territorial negotiations with Redwood Pack. You were gone for three weeks, and Melanie was... there."

Eight months. While I'd been securing alliance treaties that strengthened his pack's borders, he'd been sleeping with our Omega. While I'd been using my Alpha bloodline connections to elevate Silvermoon Pack's status, he'd been creating a secret family.

"I want a divorce." The human term felt appropriate, even though werewolves called it rejection.

Thomas's expression hardened. "That's not happening."

We returned to the ceremony together, his hand possessive at my lower back, playing the perfect Alpha couple for our important guests. I smiled through the formal dinner, laughed at Elder Morrison's jokes, graciously accepted congratulations on Marcus's successful shift. And all the while, Thomas's voice echoed through our mate bond's mind-link, laying out his proposal with businesslike efficiency.

*"Melanie can be my chosen mate. You'll remain my Luna. Everyone benefits—you keep your title and status, she gets security for our child, and I maintain both relationships. It's a practical solution. We both know chosen mate arrangements happen in larger packs."*

*"You want me to share you."* I kept my face serene as I sipped wine, nodding at the Moonstone Beta's wife.

*"I want us all to know our place. You're my Luna, my political partner. Melanie is... something else. The pack will adapt. Your Alpha connections ensure we have the influence to make this work."*

He actually believed I'd agree. That I'd swallow my dignity and accept this humiliation because leaving would complicate pack politics. That my Alpha bloodline existed solely to serve his ambitions while he played house with his pregnant mistress.

I smiled and raised my glass when Marcus made his formal speech, my heart swelling with genuine pride even as my mind began calculating with ruthless clarity. Thomas had made a critical mistake—he'd forgotten that I wasn't just his Luna. I was an Alpha-born wolf who'd spent fifteen years building connections across the most powerful packs in the region. He'd grown so comfortable with my support that he couldn't imagine I might withdraw it.

That night, alone in chambers that suddenly felt like a prison, I methodically removed every photograph of Thomas from my walls. I opened the secure files I'd maintained of my father's Alpha King bloodline connections—networks I'd barely utilized in my contentment as Luna. And I made an encrypted call to Joelle Harper, Beta attorney from Moonstone Pack, a brilliant legal mind I'd met during alliance negotiations.

She answered on the second ring. "Diana? It's past midnight."

"I need legal counsel for rejection proceedings." My voice was steady, cold, utterly controlled.

A pause. Then: "I'll be there by morning. And Diana? Make him regret every second of this."

I ended the call and stared at my reflection in the darkened window. The Luna who'd suppressed her Alpha nature for love was gone. In her place stood the daughter of an Alpha King, and Thomas Green was about to learn exactly what he'd thrown away.
