No More Love for the Woman Who Hurt Me
Chapter 6
Before I knew it, it got dark.
The fans outside the hotel were still as eager as ever.
Due to the obstruction caused by them, there was traffic congestion around the hotel.
Suddenly, the security guards were informed of something.
They shook their heads and yelled to the fans, "Tatiana Sand and Christopher Zangwill have already left the hotel for a date. You guys just quickly go there as well!"
The security guards told the fans where Christopher and Tatiana were dating.
The fans dispersed.
They ran out with all their might.
They were so frantic that they were just like uncontrollable zombies.
I went to the back door of the hotel, waiting for Tatiana's arrival.
After waiting for a long time, the two only things that kept me company were the cold wind and my phone with only a 20 percent battery left.
I opened the chat between us, only to find that our last chat was yesterday.
We seldom talked.
Was this what a couple like?
I scrolled through our past chats.
I didn't get why she had gotten her eye on a nerd like me.
Tatiana and I got together in the summer of my sophomore year.
She took the initiative to pursue me.
She would bring me breakfast before the first class in the morning.
She would wait for me downstairs in my dormitory to have lunch with me.
She would sit by me, attracting envious eyes on me from all the other boys in the cafeteria.
After class, she would wait for me outside my classroom with drinks and look at me with smiling eyes.
In her tender eyes, there was only me.
On the New Year's Day of my sophomore year, she professed her love to me.
I soon agreed to be in a relationship with her.
Tatiana...
To be honest, it was I who fell for her first.
However, I had thought that it was impossible for me to be together with her.
My parents divorced when I was 12 years old.
My grandmother raised me with all her heart.
But by the time I was accepted into university, my grandmother, who was closest to me, had passed away.
Thus, I was just a poor student living on scholarships and student grants.
I didn't even dare to have a proper breakfast.
But what about Tatiana?
She was the school belle of our college and was from a wealthy family.
She was brought up in an artistic environment.
So, how could I have the nerve to get involved with Tatiana?
At that time, she was drawing in the classroom.
I passed by her classroom and happened to notice how beautiful this girl was.
I fell for her at first sight.
The more I saw her, the more I loved her.
Later, Tatiana chased me.
I also got together with Tatiana like dreaming.
To begin with, I always felt I was on the weak side of this relationship.
I was fearful that Tatiana would break up with me.
Therefore, while studying hard, I was also working part-time to make myself good enough for Tatiana.
I worked night shifts for a whole month to buy her a necklace.
During that month, I would rush to the bar as soon as class was over.
I would serve alcohol and drinks to customers all night long.
I thought no one in the college would notice me.
"Hey! Isn't this our school belle's boyfriend, Harry Simonson?"
In the flickering light in the bar, I looked at the man in front of me in a daze.
With just one glance, I recognized this man in luxurious clothes and with an elegant air.
He was the campus bully, Christopher Zangwill.
He took out a wad of cash from his pocket.
With scorn on his face, he glanced at me.
"I'm in a good mood today, so the cash will be yours as long as you dance for me."
The people sitting next to him echoed with boos.
At first, I shook my head and rejected it.
However, I became conflicted when I realized this money was enough to buy a necklace.
Finally, I surrendered and stood on the table.
I danced with my last bit of dignity.
They picked up their phones to record videos of how I gave up my dignity.
All I could do was bear the humiliation silently.
I needed this money. I could give up everything for Tatiana.
My dignity was nothing compared to money.
"You only deserve to have those that I'm already bored with! I wish you and Tatiana will be together forever!"
With that, Christopher threw the money into the air.
I knelt humbly and slowly gathered the cash.
I finally felt relieved when I put all the cash in my pocket.
The next day, I went to buy the necklace for Tatiana with the money.
But she felt sorry for me because of this necklace.
She said in tears that she didn't need any of that, but just I was enough for her.
That day, I held her tight.
I had made up my mind that she would be my one and only woman for the rest of my life.
At the beginning of our relationship, I often cared about her very much.
She would tell me not to put her first all the time.
She would remind me that I also had my own life.
She said so because she cared about me.
But I was eager to get better and better.
That was the way to be worthy of her.
However, in my junior year, Tatiana's family fell into a decline since her mother had colluded with outsiders to bankrupt the company.
Then, her family's money was all taken away.
Tatiana only had her father to rely on.
I henceforth began to pay for Tatiana's expenses.
I would give her money whenever she wanted it.
But now, she had become the most familiar stranger to me.
I didn't know when everything changed.
"Sorry, I have to work, so I can't celebrate your birthday with you. But I'll make it up to you when I'm done with my work!
"Happy birthday!"
