Chapter 1

Because of my adopted son, I was in a cold war with my father for many years.

A father adopted his son with a severe reprimand.

I stood on the side of the adopted son without hesitation, and my father was so angry that he had a stroke and died.

"Isabella, I will never forget how good you have been to me. For the rest of my life, I will never let you suffer any injustice."

Before Adrian Foster took control of the Rossi Group, he was very obedient to me.

If a servant spoke to me a little louder, he would beat him half to death.

Sometimes, in order to buy me the latest fashion, he would even fly to Europe to have it customized.

I felt that I was right to love Adrian.

My father's previous comments that Adrian had bad intentions were just his prejudice.

Once, the housekeeper's daughter took a fancy to a necklace of mine and asked me for it, but I refused. When my husband found out, he ruthlessly threw me into the Underground Cistern below the villa.

"Isabella Rossi, as the eldest daughter of the Rossi family, you already own the whole world. Why are you still competing with sister Lillian everywhere?"

"Even though you are pregnant with my child, if you don't kneel down and apologize to Sister Lillian today, I will let you die in this Underground Cistern."

Looking at the two people who were so intimate on the top, I threatened them: "If my dad finds out that you treat me like this, he will tear you into pieces."

My words drew a burst of ridicule from Lillian Vance, "Although your father is a big shot, he was pissed off to death by you two years ago. Can he still rise from the grave and come to save a spoiled daughter like you?"

Although I loved my adopted son very much in the past.

But she wouldn't be so angry with her own father that she would die because of him.

There was an even more hidden story behind my father's burial, but there was no need for me to tell the truth to the two people in front of me.

Countless past events came to mind.

My father didn't want me to become a tool for family marriage, so he chose an adopted son for me many years ago.

At the beginning.

I didn't fancy the dark and thin Adrian among the group of boys at St. Christopher's Orphanage.

Until a group of people bullied him and made him kneel on the ground and act like a puppy.

After seeing this, I was so angry that I took the initiative to go forward and hold his hand.

Many years later.

The Rossi family has invested a lot of resources in Adrian.

Adrian had little talent or understanding, and he messed up several times in the tasks his father asked him to do, and was often laughed at by people around him.

Every time I stood by his side and encouraged him.

It has only been two years since my father left home.

He treated me like this for the sake of a housekeeper's daughter.

"Adrian, if you get me out now, I can pretend that nothing happened today."

Thinking of the man I have loved for many years, I decided to give him a chance.

Lillian mocked again: "Brother Adrian, look, Isabella actually dared to threaten us. She still thinks she is the high and mighty eldest daughter of the Rossi family."

Adrian also sneered continuously: "Ever since I was adopted by the Rossi family, Victor Rossi has always disliked me. He has often treated me harshly over the years. I don't know how much I hate that old man. You always act like a big lady in front of me, which makes me lose face. But now it is no longer the same as before."

After the Rossi family adopted Adrian, my dad did dislike him a little.

These years.

But still spent a lot of effort to train him.

He is a failure himself, so he can't blame others.

In the past, I tried my best to mediate between the father and the adopted son, to ease the relationship between the two sides as much as possible, and to give the adopted son enough face every time.

What he got in return was Adrian's ingratitude and lies.
