My Wife Forced Me to Donate a Kidney to Her Lover
Chapter 2
I packed up my things and walked out of the house with my luggage bag. I happened to see Winnie and Chris walking hand in hand.
As soon as she saw me, Winnie immediately asked, "Where have you been these past two days? Don't you know that the hospital wants to evaluate your physical condition for the kidney transplant?"
Chris smiled complacently as he tightened his arms around Winnie's waist, and the gaze he shot at me was filled with provocation.
Looking at his strong and healthy face, I hated him for putting on an act, but I hated Winnie more for being blind.
He didn't look like a patient at all.
"Say something. I'm talking to you!"
I looked at her coldly.
Winnie frowned, maybe because I had never shown such a cold look to her.
"What's that look? Who do you think you are? How dare you look at me like that!"
My eyes remained cold, "I don't need an evaluation of my physical condition."
"How can we know when to do the operation without evaluating your condition?"
I sneered,
"Why should I have the operation?"
Winnie's expression flickered.
"Zayn, what do you mean by that?"
"Literally, I don't agree to donate my kidney."
"Do you think I'm a cheap person? Why would I donate my kidney for someone who ruined my family?
He is your first love, and you can't forget him. But his death is a good thing for me. Why should I donate my kidney to him?"
Winnie was provoked by my words and burst into anger.
She pointed at me, trembling.
"Shut up!
Zayn, how dare you say that! How dare you!"
I sneered!
Why wouldn't I dare?
I had wanted to say that a long time ago. I had no choice but to endure it for my mother's sake.
I didn't have to endure it anymore!
"Winnie, let's get a divorce!"
"What?"
Winnie looked at me in disbelief.
"You want to divorce me just because I said something mean to you?"
She thought that I divorced her because of her questioning just now.
The last bit of fantasy about her in my heart completely disappeared.
"I'll send you the divorce agreement. Remember to sign it."
"Stop right there!"
Chris stopped me.
"Winnie just asked you a few questions, and you can't stand it. You're such a loser."
"Out of my way!"
My gaze was cold. I pushed Chris away forcefully and carried my luggage out of the house.
"Chris!" Winnie cried out in surprise, as she hurriedly helped Chris up from the ground, and then she shouted loudly at my back.
"Zayn, you can't threaten me with a divorce. And you have to donate your kidney to Chris!
Let me tell you, you have no choice at all!"
Hearing this, my heart ached to the extreme.
She thought that I was threatening her with a divorce.
I loved her so much, but she stepped on my dignity for Chris and ground it to pieces.
I didn't look back. I pulled my luggage bag and walked further away.
The Stuart family and the White family were both well-known families in the city, and they had been friends for generations. Winnie and Chris had known each other since childhood.
In order to save Chris, Winnie wouldn't divorce me so easily. She'd put it off again and again. I had to hire a good lawyer. So I called my best friend.
"Hey, bro, do me a favor. I want to hire a good lawyer."
"What happened?"
Listening to his concerned voice, I felt warm in my heart.
"Nothing special. I'm just going to divorce Winnie."
"You've finally thought it through. No problem. Leave the matter of hiring a lawyer to me."
He was happy for me.
"I told you that Winnie is not suitable for you. It's really good for you to divorce her."
I smiled bitterly.
My friend started from scratch and expanded his company step by step. He was now a famous entrepreneur in the city.
He had met Winnie several times and persuaded me to divorce her more than once, saying that she did not love me at all.
I was immersed in my fantasy at that time, so I didn't listen to him.
"Zayn, come and help me after the divorce. I'm going to do a new project about live streaming. You have relevant experience. So I'll let you be the person in charge.
We men can only be confident when we have money."
"Alright!"
I agreed without any hesitation.
He invited me to help him before, but Winnie was the boss. She didn't allow me to go. I must work in her company.
I was not happy with my work at all. Everyone in the company said behind my back that I was her toy boy.
The feeling of living under someone else's roof was not pleasant at all.
But for her, I endured it!
My tolerance had resulted in her getting worse and worse to me.
My friend was right. Men should have careers and money in their hands. Only then could they straighten our backs!
After agreeing on the working time with him, I took a taxi to the suburbs.
My mother had a house here.
After marrying Winnie, she didn't allow my mother to live with us. I was a little angry, but my mother persuaded me.
"Son, I'm old and not used to living in the city. The countryside is more suitable for me."
My mother's words were still ringing in my ears, but she was gone forever.
Pushing the door open and looking at the familiar environment, I couldn't help but feel a lump in my throat.
There was a lounge chair by the window. When my mother was alive, she enjoyed lying on the lounge chair and quietly bask in the sun.
I walked over and knelt down beside the lounge chair. I gently stroked the chair and choked with sobs,
"Mom!"
My mother had worked so hard to raise me all her life. She should have lived a happy life when she got old, but...
I was unfilial!
I knelt next to the lounge chair until it was dark. Then, I cleaned up the room and carefully took out my mother's urn from the luggage bag.
"Mom, we're home now!"
My mother wanted to be buried with my father after she died. I was negotiating with the cemetery. After divorcing Winnie, I would fulfill my mother's wish.
At eight o'clock in the evening, I received a call from a strange number. The other party claimed to be a lawyer and wanted to talk to me face to face.
I understood that it was my friend who found me the lawyer, so I did not refuse.
After we agreed to meet in a cafe, I tidied up and went out.
