My Pregnant First Love Wanted to Reconcile
My Pregnant First Love Wanted to Reconcile Chapter 1
I was the most loyal backup of Miss Cox. I took care of her in every possible way, but she despised me.
To save her, I lost my legs and became a joke in the circle of our friends.
I thought she came to pick me up from the hospital, but she covered her slightly bulging belly and said, "From today on, you are a father, Cole! I accept you."
She forced me to marry her and become a stepfather. I swore to make them have a miserable end.
In the end, my son saw the other man as his father.
1.
I sat in a wheelchair, staring blankly at my legs without any sensation. The caregiver pushed the wheelchair and took me out of the hospital gate.
Julia was wearing a white dress, with a clean and pure face. I saw her in a daze, for I didn't expect her to be the first person I saw when I left the hospital.
A secret joy surged in my heart. My crush came to pick me up from the hospital in person, sweeping away the gloom of losing my legs during this period of time.
I whispered to the caregiver to push faster, never taking my eyes off Julia.
Julia saw me walking up quickly, holding something in her hand. I couldn't help but smile at her and said, "Julia..."
Before I could speak, she interrupted me and stuffed a report into my hand, gently placing her hands on her belly. Her face was slightly flushed.
Her tone was as spoiled as ever, "From today on, you are a father, Cole! I accept you."
I was stunned, as if struck by lightning. My head went blank. The prenatal examination report in my hand made my eyes sore. She was already 16 weeks pregnant.
That was four months.
In the chaos, I began to think of what she said, instantly feeling a chill. I had been in the hospital for five months since the car accident.
Before this, I couldn't even get close to her. This baby was definitely not mine.
"So, she means that I should take responsibility?
Am I pushover?"
My heart sank suddenly. Julia pushed me and complained, "What are you staring at? When are we going to get married?"
I came to my senses and found that the pregnancy test report had been crumpled by me unconsciously.
I stared at Julia's delicate face for a long time and sneered, "What? Are you so eager to find a stepfather for the bastard in your belly? Even a disabled person like me is not spared?"
Julia was stunned and said, "Cole, what are you talking about? This is your child."
I clenched my fist, no longer suppressing my anger, and threw the pregnancy test report at her, shouting angrily, "Everyone in our circle knows that I am just a backup that Miss Cox can push around or push away! I was hospitalized for five months, and you got pregnant for four months. How could a disabled person like me make you pregnant?"
I looked at her mockingly! Her face turned pale, and her body trembled uncontrollably. "Cole, is this what you think of me?"
I leaned back in the chair, pulled the blanket off my legs, and sneered, "Miss Cox, have you seen it clearly? I don't care whose child is in your belly, but don't take me as a fool! I like you, but it doesn't mean I am stupid! Please stop lying there!"
In the years of pursuing her, I had always been cautious never said anything harsh to her. She must not be able to accept my indifferent attitude. Her eyes were full of disbelief, and tears welled up in her eyes.
I tightened my hand, feeling a stab in my chest. I looked away and stopped looking at her, mocking myself for being weak and unable to bear her tears. Every time she shed tears, I would soften.
Julia raised her hand and slapped me hard, with a crying tone, scolding, "Cole, you bastard!"
She turned and ran away. Her father Barry happened to get off the car and saw his daughter crying sadly. He was furious and shouted at me from a distance, "You asshole, how dare you make Julia cry! I'll make you regret it!"
I was not moved, just calmly replied, "No matter what, I cannot marry her. Mr. Cox, you should go find the child's biological father."
Barry's face turned red with anger. He clenched his fists and wanted to come up and hit me but was stopped by Julia.
Ignoring their reactions, I urged the caregiver to take me home.
The caregiver nodded repeatedly, staring at my face several times. I had no expression on my face and urged again. Only then did she lower her head and push me away quickly.
2.
When I got home, my parents were making a phone call. They saw me come back, and their gaze fell on me for a while, then they repeatedly agreed.
The caregiver poured me a glass of warm water. I drank it sip by sip, hoping to calm my restless mood.
My father walked over with a smile on his face, patted my shoulder. Seeing his smiling face, I thought he was happy that I was discharged from the hospital, and my heart finally felt a little comfort.
But at this moment, my mother ran over excitedly and asked me, "Cole, when will you and Julia apply for marriage? What kind of wedding do you want?"
I looked up, unable to believe what I heard. "Mom, what are you talking about? What wedding?"
My father laughed heartily with a smiley face. "Son, you even want to keep ita secret from your parents. The Cox family contacted us early on and agreed to your marriage with Julia!"
I tightly held the glass in my hand. Their words were undoubtedly a heavy blow to me, "Do you agree?"
They were so excited that they looked better than me, a young man in his twenties, and nodded naturally, "Of course! That's the Cox family! Do you know how much benefit our company can get if you marry Julia?"
I gnashed my teeth and suppressed my emotions.
My mother looked at me suspiciously. "Don't you like her very much? How come you're not happy to marry the girl you like?"
I couldn't hold back anymore and hammered hard on the armrest of the wheelchair. The pain in my bones was clear, but it couldn't diminish my anger inside. "Mom, Dad, Julia is four months pregnant! She wants to marry me just to make me take the blame!"
My mother's smile faded a bit. She and my father looked at each other, and my father immediately pulled a stern face and ordered me, "So what? You must marry her!"
I completely lost control of my emotions, and I fiercely threw the glass in my hand to the ground. I stared with bloodshot eyes and shouted hoarsely, "Impossible! I will never marry Julia! I will not stoop so low as to accept her betrayal!"
My parents were startled by me, and then anger appeared on their faces. They kept talking about one thing, which was to make me marry Julia.
I was extremely disappointed, and I decided not to return to this family.
I asked the caregiver to push me out, and my father immediately ordered the house workers to close the door and drag me off the wheelchair.
I struggled desperately. My arms were held by someone, my lower body completely numb. It was the first time I felt so clearly the panic brought by paralysis of my legs.
I was like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered. No matter how hard I resisted, it was in vain. I could only be at the mercy of others.
I was carried up to the second floor. As I got closer to the room, I broke down and screamed in despair, "Mom! Dad! You can't do this to me! I won't marry Julia! Not in this lifetime!"
I thrashed my upper body wildly, gripping the house workers' arms tightly with my fingers. My legs were lifted up, and my body twisted into a strange curve, but I couldn't feel any pain.
All I had in my mind was one thought: to leave this place, to not be locked up!
It was all in vain. I stared blankly at the ceiling, while the house workers silently tidied up my bed.
I closed my eyes in pain, tears sliding down from the corners of my eyes. "What is this?
Why does it have to be me? Haven't I done enough for her?"
3.
I wanted to bury my face in the pillow, not letting anyone see my current miserable state, but I couldn't even fulfill this small wish of turning over on my own.
I reached out to touch my legs, feeling the skin clearly with my palm, but my lower body remained completely numb.
I wanted to sit up and lean against the head of the bed. I struggled to move, but almost fell to the ground. Luckily, the caregiver came in and helped me, saving me from danger.
I gritted my teeth and pounded my legs with my fists, holding back tears. "Why am I so useless?"
The caregiver was frightened and rushed out to call for help, then came back and tried to stop me. I was feeling suppressed and just wanted to vent. I shouted at the people in the room, "Get out! All of you, get out!"
I picked up something at the head of the bed and threw it at them casually. They looked at each other and left with my father's permission. He looked at me coldly, as if I was crazy, and said indifferently, "You can choose to get married willingly or unwillingly."
After saying that, he closed the door and left me alone to smash everything that could be smashed.
I collapsed on the bed, feeling completely exhausted. I felt myself like a total joke.
As scheduled, the wedding date arrived after I was caged for half a month. The first time I was released was to attend my own wedding.
I numbly watched Julia, who was in a beautiful wedding gown, with a slight smile on my face under the threatening gaze of my parents.
I once said I would never marry her, but I was just a useless person. I couldn't even take my own life.
Julia's face was full of shyness and joy, which became even more evident when I said the words "Yes, I do." I felt annoyed in my heart, but she should be happy that I accepted her offer as she wished.
My parents became visibly nervous, when the wedding began, and then they only breathed a sigh of relief after I indifferently recited the oath. The wedding was over.
My parents and Julia's parents were full of joy, and Julia also had a smile on her face. The only person who couldn't smile at this wedding was me.
After they sent me and Julia to our room, they gave a few instructions and then left. I looked at their departing figures and revealed a sinister smile.
This was the first genuine smile I had today.
Julia saw me smiling and walked over with a blush on her face. She was somewhat surprised, "Cole, I thought you didn't want to marry me!"
I maintained my smile. "How could that be? Of course, I want to marry you."
After all, only in this way can I torment her and make her and her illegitimate child pay the price!
I believed my smile must be full of malice, but Julia was too foolish. She didn't see it at all.
She was completely immersed in the joy, thinking that I sincerely wanted to marry her.
After removing her makeup and finishing her shower, she came out with a basin of water and a towel in her hand. She said she wanted to wipe my body.
I was a bit confused. She grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth, but she knew how to look after others?
It turned out that she not only knew how to do it, but also very skilled. I couldn't help but think of the biological father of her child. She must have learned that when she was with the him.
Thinking of this, anger surged within me. I couldn't explain whether it was jealousy or dissatisfaction, because the girl I once held dear in my heart, did the same to another man!
I sneered at her, "I never expect Miss Cox to take care of others. It seems that the biological father of your child doesn't treat you well either. Is that why he doesn't want you anymore? No wonder you came to me, a disabled person, for help."
Julia was first stunned, then bit her lip and said nothing, just silently wiped my body.
4.
Seeing her obedient appearance, I was even more annoyed. I raised my hand and knocked over the water basin, and said coldly, "Get out."
The hot water soaked the quilt and bed sheets, as well as her thin pajamas. Despite her spoiled temper, she didn't get angry. Instead, she gently said to me, "Let me change the quilt and bed sheets for you first."
I was so angry that I pushed her hand away and said, "Didn't I tell you to get lost? Go away!"
She seemed frightened. Tears welled in her eyes. She picked up the water basin from the ground in confusion and took a deep breath, saying, "Okay, good night then. I..."
I couldn't understand why she had become the way she was at this point. Compared to her being submissive and obedient, I preferred her previous stubborn and willful behavior.
She was arrogant and willful.
She kept talking, but I didn't have the patience to listen and coldly told her to leave again.
As I wished, she left. I closed my eyes and tried to calm my restless mood, but her restrained and wronged face kept flashing in my mind, making me even more annoyed and upset.
What did that man do to her that could crush her pride? He deserved to die!
I stayed awake all night with my eyes open.
I was determined to torment Julia. I refused to take the medicine she brought, knocked over all the food, and spoke coldly to her every day, occasionally treating her gently.
She was tormented by my changeable mood, but she never got angry with me and always endured it.
I didn't let the caregiver give me a leg massage. I insisted on Julia do it. She didn't think there was anything wrong with it, but was actually happy about it.
She was extremely careful and eager to please me. This always reminded me of the man who had crushed her pride, making me feel dissatisfied and at the same time somewhat elated and complacent.
Julia had changed into a different person, and our roles had completely reversed. The feeling of giving Julia a hard time was incredibly satisfying.
I didn't know how she could bite the bullet. Since she was willing to endure, I wouldn't be merciful to her.
She couldn't hide her fatigue, since she was almost nine months pregnant. I deliberately asked her for help. Her eyebrows furrowed tighter and tighter. She almost lost her temper several times, but she held back.
I was curious about how long she could endure, so I became more excessive. I could find four or five reasons to make her change a glass of water and then pour cold water on her face.
She finally couldn't bear it and yelled at me, "Cole, are you out of your mind? Is it fun to torture me like this?"
She looked at me in pain, tears running down her cheeks. "Cole, I think I haven't done anything wrong to you, after we got married! I did everything I could to take care of you. Can you at least understand me? I'm really tired!"
Hearing her words, guilt surged in my heart. I opened my mouth instinctively to apologize, but then I swallowed them back.
"I have severe insomnia during pregnancy and can't sleep at all! It's inconvenient for me to move with my baby bump. But I have to take care of you, wipe your body, and be woken up by you in the middle of the night. Can't you understand me a little?"
She broke down and cried, looking haggard. With her messy hair, she looked like a madwoman.
And her words extinguished the guilt that had just surged in me.
I stared at her coldly, "What does it have to do with me? It's not me who made you pregnant. You should go find your child's biological father. What's the use of getting mad at me? Didn't you insist on marrying me back then? A promiscuous woman like you probably doesn't even know who the child's father is!"
She looked at me blankly, her eyes full of sadness, "Cole, do you have a heart?"
I sneered disdainfully, "What? Did I say anything wrong? Alright, then you tell me, who is the father?"
