My Husband's Mistress Looks Like Me
Chapter 7
Her mobile phone lay beside her, but they couldn't unlock it and contact her family. So people called 911 and sent Sherry who was in a coma to the hospital.
When Sherry awakened, it was completely dark outside the window.
"You finally awakened."
When she woke up, the first thing she saw was a young nurse.
"If you don't wake up, I'll ask a doctor to give you a full medical check-up." Said the nurse.
Sherry propped up and sat by the bed, massaging her temples with fingers, recalling what happened before she was unconscious: "What has been happening to me?"
"Dizziness caused by hypoglycemia, but you are in a serious condition. You have been unconscious for several hours. If possible, you'd better have a full medical check-up tomorrow to see if there are any other problems."
She suffered from hypoglycemia when she was a student. Many thin girls get this disease more or less. When they squat down and get up suddenly, they go black and can't see anything.
She knew she had the disease. When she was a child, she was malnourished. Later...she started a business with Pacey; because of this, her diet was irregular, and her hypoglycemia was even more serious.
She thanked the nurse for her kindness and went home after paying the infusion fee.
Pacey didn't come back that night.
Sherry sent him a message, telling him not to work too late and have a good rest.
However, she didn't get his reply.
The next day was their third wedding anniversary.
Sherry received a call from one of her former subordinates, "GM Sherry..."
Sherry closed the book in her hand and smiled: "Adam, I am not GM anymore."
Adam Green: "...Sorry. How've you been recent?"
"Well, I'm fine. How are things going with your work? After two years, your voice sounds much more sedate, and you are no longer so reckless as you used to be."
Adam smiled when they mentioned the past, but that's exactly why he's making this call today.
"Without the support of you, I would not be me today. Everyone misses you very much." His words are full of gratitude and...sorry.
Many older employees felt that the Group when Sherry was still there was the real Sherry-Grant Group. The Group has been changed since Sherry left. Now, Pacey decides everything on his own without listing to the employee's suggestions.
Sherry shook her head. She never took credit.
Adam paused and tried to bring the topic to Pacey: "After you resigned, Pacey took full charge of Sherry-Grant Group and engage in a lot more social activities. Some time ago, there was...... a woman. As you know...... Pacey is a young and rich man. Sherry, you should pay more attention to him."
He has made her words clear enough. If he didn't really appreciate her kindness, he wouldn't be involved in this trouble. After all, everyone knew that outsiders should keep away from other people's family affairs, otherwise they would end up in an awkward situation.
Sherry paused for a second and said, "He is not that kind of person."
He said that she is his only love in the world.
What's more, at the beginning of their start-up, there was a daughter of a real estate tycoon like Pacey. Everyone knew that this was a good opportunity, but Pacey refused her.
Sherry met that girl. She was a young, beautiful, knowledgeable, and elegant girl from a decent family.
When Pacey had nothing, he would rather work to death for the business than break up with Sherry and marry the daughter of the real estate tycoon. Now that the Group was thriving and they had achieved financial success, how could Sherry believe that Pacey cheated on her?
Her words made Adam silent for a long time. He suddenly wondered if he should not have called her in the first place.
Sherry wasn't in charge of the business anymore and enjoyed being a housewife. In her eyes, Pacey was always the young man she loved. Wasn't it cruel of him to try to debunk this illusion?
"Sherry..."
When Adam was about to talk to her again, a hand grabbed him from his back and hanged up his phone.
