Chapter 2

My heart broke as l watched their disgusting actions. I froze in my hiding place.

"Dylan, when are we getting married? I've been waiting five years," Alexa said, breaking the kiss.

Five years! All that time they'd been having an affair, and I only found out about it now.

"I hope you wait a little longer, Alexa. After Gisella's gone, we'll get married," Dylan replied, smiling.

My chest was tight. They were waiting for me to die.

"Why do we have to wait, Dylan?" Alexa Asked sullenly.

"Trust me, it's for us. I can't just get a divorce, there's an agreement that binds me," Dylan replied.

I vividly remember the letter and Dylan's promise not to cheat on me with another woman, and if he broke it, then all his property became mine.

"Okay, but why did you marry her in the first place?" Alexa said with a frown.

"Because of her mother's debt. I married her in order to use her signature to sell her mother's organs. Besides, who wants to marry a poor girl?" Chuckled Dylan,.

It felt like a hard blow to my heart when I realized he had only used me.

"No wonder you always treat her as a maid," Alexa replied.

My marriage turned out to be a shadow of its former self. I thought Dylan was improving my life. In fact, he destroyed me.

Before Dylan realized where I was, I was back in my hospital room. I cried, but my tears stopped when the door opened roughly.

My mother in-laws came in with a glare and slapped me.

"Damn woman! Why is my son's kidney damaged? What have you been cooking all this time?" She snapped while grabbing my hair, she said.

"I don't know, ma'am, don't blame me," I replied irritably, remembering Dylan's lies about his kidney condition.

"You germ! Don't bring your poor habits to this family!" My mother-in-law snapped.

My chest rose and fell with anger. "I donated my kidney," I said, my voice shaking.

"You're not sincere?" She pushed me off the gurney.

I screamed as blood seeped through my clothes. It looked like my surgical wound had been cut.

"Mom, please call a doctor for me!" I begged while holding my stomach.

She looked at me coldly. "So weak," she said and left me.

Tears streamed down my face as I watched my mother-in-law leave.

My stomach hurt more and more, the blood kept flowing. My vision blurred, then everything went dark.

When I opened my eyes, Dylan was beside me. He took my hand and pulled me.

"How are you, Gisella?" he asked falsely.

"I'm fine," I said, looking at him flatly. I knew he was enjoying my pain.

"What happened? Why did you get that wound?" Dylan asked,.

I was silent for a moment, looking at Alexa. And my gaze drifted to my mother-in-law.

"Your mom made me this way," I replied irritably.

"That's not true, Dylan. I called the doctor for her!" My mother-in-law denied it.

Dylan nodded, believing her.

"She's lying, Dylan! She pushed me!" I said in a snapping voice.

But I was surprised when Dylan slapped my cheek. My eyes began to glaze over at him.

"She's my mom. I trust her more than you! Don't just because you donated a kidney think you have the right to do anything!" Dylan said, causing me to pause.

I held my breath. His heart was as hard as stone.

"Before accusing me, you should remember who you are. Without my son, you are nothing! You could be a bum or maybe a prostitute," my mother-in-law snapped and walked away from me.

"I'm disappointed in you, Gisella!" said Dylan, giving me a disgusted look.

I saw the red marks on Alexa's neck, and my breath caught. Then, he grabbed Alexa's hand and left.

I gripped the sheets, holding back the pain in my body and heart.

"Just wait , Dylan. Wait, Alexa. Do you really think I've lost? No, I will to make you kneel before me!" I muttered as I watched them leave.
