Chapter 2

I stood frozen,as if struck by a heavy hammer. My mind went blank, but tears couldn't be controlled as they streamed down my face.

My husband had been with my best friend and the child I had struggled for three IVF attempts to conceive wasn’t even mine.

These two adulterers actually wanted to seize the Lewis Family's demolition compensation.

The sounds of the struggle soon stopped. After a short break, the two began a new round of intense move.

Wendy swapped positions with the man, using a tie to bind Zack's hands, forcing him to kneel and lick her like a dog.

Then,Wendy pulled out her phone and aimed it at the man’s face.

"I’m going to take a picture of you like this and send it to Sandra for her to admire.I wonder what her reaction will be?"

Zack's eyes were half-lidded."Sandra,that ugly woman,is like a log in bed.Even if I take a strong pill,I don’t want to touch her!If it weren’t for her being pregnant with our child,I would have divorced her a long time ago!"

"Say that again, what did you call her?"

"Sandra is like a log in bed, like a corpse...just looking at her makes me sick.I wouldn't touch her even if I had to be castrated!"

The words of debauchery made me gag in disgust.

I gripped the broom tightly,my anger reaching its peak.I wanted to rush in right now and stab these two adulterers. But the last bit of rationality stopped me from breaking down the door.

Killing these two would lead to prison for me,but that would be too easy for them.

They deserved a fate worse than death.

I slapped myself across the face, trying to snap out of it.After a moment of calm,I left the top floor alone.

When I returned to my room,my mother-in-law had already left.

I had just sat down on the sofa when my phone chimed with a message notification. In a daze,I picked it up and saw a video from an unknown number.

Through the shaky camera,Zack had a satisfied look on his face, licking Wendy's skin while cursing Sandra.

"Sandra is like a log in bed, like a corpse...just looking at her makes me sick.I wouldn't touch her even if I had to be castrated!"

My face turned pale.

I thought Wendy seducing my husband was already disgraceful, but I never expected her to have the audacity to send me an anonymous video of their affair.

The shameful sounds of their union filled the entire room.My nails dug deep into my palm, not even realizing I was bleeding.

The sounds suddenly stopped and a storm of emotions surged in my heart.

I bit my lip,the salty, metallic taste hitting the tip of my nose.

Just then, the nanny entered, holding the baby. She noticed my pale face and asked with concern what had happened.

I quickly lied, saying I was just tired, then reminded the nanny to take good care of the baby before retreating to my room and closing the door.

Tears flowed uncontrollably, like a faucet that couldn’t be turned off.

Zack and I were university classmates, dating for four years before getting married after graduation.

After marriage,we opened a hotpot restaurant.Through six years of hard work,we eventually built it into a well-known chain.

Zack also became a somewhat well-known entrepreneur in the area.We swapped our villa and luxury cars, living a comfortable life.

Just when I thought I had achieved success in both my career and love life,I was diagnosed with a serious ovarian issue.

The journey to conceive was full of obstacles.I underwent countless ovulation injections and endured extraordinary pain. Finally, after my third IVF attempt,I became pregnant.

Once pregnant,I stopped going to work and focused solely on preparing for the baby at home.

Although Zack’s work was busy,he was attentive to both me and the child. He was always concerned about my well-being,never missing any prenatal check-ups and spent a lot of money on supplements to help me regain my health.

Before the child was even born,Zack purchased a large flat in the city, claiming it was the baby’s first gift.

To my shock,Zack, who appeared to be a devoted husband and a humble man in front of others, turned out to be nothing but a despicable scoundrel.

Without giving myself a moment to catch my breath,I secretly pulled out my son’s hair and sent it,along with my own,to a paternity testing agency via my assistant.

Twenty-four hours later, the expedited paternity test results came back.

I wasn’t biologically related to the child.

The last shred of hope I had left was completely shattered by the cruel reality in that moment.
