Chapter 3

It didn't take long before the news spread among the elites.

The scions who used to treat Justin as if he were their own brother immediately severed their ties with him. Even his business partners silently but swiftly retracted their funding.

Panicking, Justin sent me a few apologetic voice messages.

I didn't even get a chance to listen to them before Tiffany kicked the door open. She held up the hem of her wedding dress as she dashed into the room, looking furious.

"Didn't I already sign a contract, Nathan? Why are you still cornering Justin into a dead end? He was orphaned as a child. It took a lot of hard work for him to get to where he is now, but your mother has totally cut off all his options. Don't you think that you're bullying him too much?"

I stared at the wedding dress that she was wearing.

I suddenly recalled that three days ago, I received a call from the bridal studio. They informed me that Tiffany had changed her wedding dress and asked if I wanted to change my suit as well.

I didn't think too much about it at the time, and asked the staff member to change my suit to match her dress.

After all, Tiffany had been debating between a mermaid dress and a princess dress during her fitting sessions.

However, the dress that she was wearing now was one that I had never seen before. It was a Flutoran-style wedding dress with a plunging neckline.

If I remembered correctly, Justin was the one who chose a dress with a plunging neckline in the beginning.

I couldn't help but wonder if Tiffany respected me in the slightest at all. How dare she flirt with Justin right under my nose?

I interrupted her incessant nagging and said, "So, you believe that Justin didn't do anything wrong, even though he was a freeloader in my house for so many years and pretended to be the heir of the Heaton family to act arrogantly in public?

"You don't think that he's in the wrong, even though we helped him with his tiny company so he could rake in the profits? Even though he continued flirting with my fiancee during my wedding ceremony?"

"He was just fooling around," Tiffany retorted in a high-pitched voice, sounding displeased. "Must you make a mountain out of a molehill? You're clearly the one who's in the wrong!"

I slowly narrowed my eyes as I approached her.

"You're right. I was wrong for trying to give you a third chance and for allowing you to provoke me so fearlessly. Since that's the case, you should go ahead and marry Justin. Don't forget to stay by his side when he's having a rough time."

I turned around and left the lounge after I was done speaking.

"Do you really believe that I'm going to regret not marrying you?" Tiffany shrieked from behind me, sounding like she was teetering on the edge of a breakdown. "I've long grown tired of dealing with a bully like you who abuses his powers to harass other people!"

I ignored her and ordered my assistant, Jamie Frisk, to cancel the wedding ceremony.

I was curious to see how the Bastion family would deal with the crisis.

However, I was just about to leave the venue when Jamie called me, sounding panicked.

"An issue came up at the wedding venue, Mr. Heaton. I'm afraid that I can't cancel the ceremony."

He seemed to struggle for the right words to say before he sighed and continued, "Why don't you come to the second floor and take a look for yourself?"

When I got to the second floor, I immediately understood what the issue was.

The wedding ceremony was still proceeding. However, the wedding photo of Tiffany and me that had been placed at the entrance had been replaced by a photo of her and Justin.

Meanwhile, the welcome message on the sign read, "Nathan Heaton and dogs are forbidden from entering the hall."
