I hailed a taxi and prepared to go home.

While in the car, I received a message from Finn.

[Rachel, if you come back and tidy up everything tonight, I will forgive everything you did today.]

Finn was completely out of his mind. At this moment, all I wanted to do was to open up his brain and see how mentally deranged he was. How come he would think that I could tolerate him being with another woman and clean the house for him?

[No need to forgive me. Let's break up!]

Perhaps my indifferent attitude angered Finn, as he quickly sent another voice message.

In the voice message, he gritted his teeth and said, "Rachel, you don't need to come to the company tomorrow. And don't regret it!"

I was speechless. It was just a small company. Who cared about it!

If it weren't for the argument I had with my dad and if I hadn’t said that I would sever the father-daughter relationship in a fit of anger and rely on my own abilities to make a living, I wouldn't have ended up working in such a small company.

Now that he didn't want me to go, it saved me the trouble of going through the resignation process.

I agreed in response.

After thinking for a moment, I sent him another message.

[You fired me. Remember to transfer the compensation to my account!]

I put away my phone and imagined how furious he must be on the other end. I felt so happy.

Half an hour later, Finn updated his Moments.

It was a photo of the two of them holding a pregnancy report together.

[Good news! I am about to marry Miss Boyd from the Boyd Group! Miss Boyd, let’s take care of each other in the future!]

Kylie liked it and replied with a shy expression.

I laughed. Everyone in our circle knew that the daughter of the Boyd family wasn’t surnamed Boyd. I had my mother's surname!
