An anonymous local forum post goes viral, accusing an office worker of being a wealthy man's mistress. The poster points out her modest salary, suburban home, and orphan status, contrasting them with her luxury Hermès bags and Chanel shoes. When she notices a real-time update about expensive flowers left on her own desk, she realizes she is the target of this vicious online campaign. Now, she must face the absurd rumors of her colleagues just because she is secretly rich.

My Colleague’s Karma After His Vicious Bullying Chapter 1

I came across a post on the local forum: "Suspecting a woman in the office is a mistress."

"She's an orphan, lives in the suburbs, makes five thousand a month, carries a Hermès bag, wears Chanel shoes and never repeats her designer outfits!"

Netizens unanimously agreed the woman seemed to be kept by a man.

The original poster was updated in real-time: "Folks, someone sent her flowers today. She pretended to put them in the corner and hardly looked at them. Those flowers are expensive!"

As a casual observer, my heart skipped a beat. In disbelief, I then silently glanced at the bouquet of flowers on the right side of my desk. Was I ... doing something illegal or something? What, am I not allowed to be rich?

Part 1

I fumed for an hour before finally calming down and discussing with my husband who the poster might be.

The flowers were from my husband, today was our first wedding anniversary. I valued my privacy and hadn't mentioned getting married to my colleagues. When they asked who sent the flowers, I just smiled.

My husband pointed out a few directions, people I'd offended, people with deep thoughts and people with conflicting interests. I racked my brain but couldn't come up with any leads. I usually minded my words and actions, rarely offending anyone.

The only suspicious person could be the new team leader, Valerie Rivera. She joined the company a bit later than me and was very insecure when she first came. She proactively befriended me, saying I was the only person she could talk to in the company. But over time, she found better support and grew distant.

I vaguely felt she was jealous of me, though I didn't know why. But now that she was promoted to team leader, though it wasn't a position of real power, she had a more successful career than mine. She shouldn't have any reason to secretly post complaints about me, right?

I wanted to report the post directly, but my husband advised me to hold off and observe. He said, "An open attack is easy to dodge, but a hidden arrow is hard to defend against. We need to catch the hidden enemy."

For the next few days, I was on the verge of losing my temper, until finally, on the fifth day, the original poster updated again.

"Today I was so busy but finally had time to update, folks, we've got solid proof! Solid proof she's being a mistress! Today I heard a man call her and ask how much money she needed to compensate her! She pretended in front of me, disdainfully saying she didn't want money! Selling her body but pretending to have integrity!"

Sitting at home, I leaped up from the couch in anger, my husband jumped up in fright to support me and said, "Darling, be careful, you're not alone now."

My chest heaved uncontrollably, never mess with a pregnant woman. When a pregnant woman gets angry, she fantasizes about a thousand ways to dismember the person.

I threw my phone to my husband and told him to read the latest comment. He frowned and asked who was with me at that time. I snorted out the name, "Valerie Rivera!"

Today, Valerie and I happened to ride the same elevator. My husband knew I had been in a bad mood lately, so he took the time to call and said he would send me a gift to cheer me up. Unexpectedly, Valerie overheard and twisted it into this.

She said I carried designer bags. I only had five bags from my husband that I rotated. She said I wore designer shoes. I had only worn the Chanel shoes I had longed for and finally bought them once.

She also said she noticed my route to work didn't come from the suburbs that day, suggesting I stayed overnight at a sugar daddy's place. She speculated I wore a turtleneck to cover hickeys on my neck.
