My Brother’s Torture Drove Me to Death
Chapter 2
My spirit followed Aiden into the car and landed lightly on the back seat.
In the single ward, Eva was shivering under the blanket and was sweating profusely.
When she saw Aiden, she jumped out of bed barefoot and hid in his arms. "Aiden, I had a nightmare. I was so scared."
Her voice was extremely gentle. Tears dripped down and wet Aiden's shirt.
She looked like an innocent kitten who had been frightened.
She looked so pitiful.
However, this kitten was not soft-hearted at all when it came to playing tricks.
Aiden patted her gently on the shoulder after a moment of hesitation. "Don't be afraid. I will accompany you."
"Alice didn't do it on purpose. Don't blame her.
"It's all because of me that she ran away from home in a fit of anger. It's all my fault."
Hearing my name, Aiden's eyes were full of disgust. "She hurt you like this, so don't speak up for her anymore. I know what kind of person she is.
"I'd rather she would never come back."
Eva leaned on Aiden's chest and stopped crying. There was a smug smile on her face.
Eva was an orphan. Aiden and Grace met her when they were volunteering at the orphanage.
Aiden pitied her at first sight.
Aiden said that Eva resembled me so much.
He loved me so much that he cannot bear that someone who looks like me is suffering somewhere of the world.
Just like that, 12-year-old Eva came to my house and Aiden sponsored her to school until now.
At first, I didn't pay much attention to it. She was just a new member to our family.
However, a few years later, I realized that something was wrong.
On my birthday, she accidentally fell from the second floor and broke her leg.
At my graduation party, she had a high fever and couldn't get up.
I was scared of dogs, and I was allergic to dog fur, but she deliberately picked up stray dogs and took them home.
I could tell what she was thinking and locked her up in her room to question her.
She cried out and banged her head against the wall, getting blood and tears all over her face.
That was the first time Aiden had hit me. "Which is more important, your birthday or Eva's life? Do you know that she almost died? How can you be so selfish?
"And you hit her. You've really disappointed me."
That day, I had a fierce quarrel with Aiden.
Children at the age of fifteen or sixteen were always rebellious, and I was no exception.
Since you're disappointed in me, then let Eva be your sister in the future.
It was also on that day that Aiden and I could never go back.
I was sad, so I skipped school to have fun. As a result, I was kidnapped.
I couldn't get through to Aiden, so I called Grace.
Soon, she arrived, but she came alone.
I didn't know what happened later. When I woke up again, I heard that Grace had fallen into the sea and couldn't be found. People only found a torn scarf on the shore.
Grace was Aiden's first love. Her death nearly killed Aiden.
His eyes were bloodshot. He pressed the scarf tightly against my chest and questioned loudly, "You've hurt Eva, now you have kill Grace. Are you satisfied now?
"Why did you call her? Why didn't you die?"
I knelt in front of Grace's tombstone. My tears dripped to the ground drop by drop.
At that moment, I was in pain and remorse. Why didn't I die?
My memory slowly dissipated and I exhaled in relief.
I thought I would be guilty for the rest of my life, until I saw Grace again three days ago.
