My Bestie's Boyfriend is My Husband
Chapter 2
The three of us had been good friends since junior high school.
At that time, I was rebellious and did not want to go to the aristocratic school my father arranged for me. I insisted on going to a public school.
My father finally couldn't persuade me and let me come to the school.
But I was used to being ostentatious, and I didn't see why I should keep a low profile. So soon I became a thorn in the flesh of some people who hated the rich.
Although they would not use violence against me openly due to the influence of my family, they would secretly speculate about me and spread rumors about me.
And that time, the head of a group who had always disliked me bumped into me and spilled all the food on me. Then she apologized to me in a sarcastic tone with a look of disdain on her face.
"Sorry, Sally. I accidentally soiled your school uniform, but you shouldn't mind, right? After all, your family is so rich, and you will definitely not make a fuss with us."
I bit my lip, not knowing what to do.
At that time, Tim appeared and rescued me.
"How dare you bully a girl like this?"
At the same time, Dora also stood next to me and silently handed me a set of school uniform.
Seeing that they were supporting me, everyone started to talk in low voices and dispersed.
"Tsk, how boring! Why Tim helps her?"
Tim was a well-known gangster in the school. He was very fierce in fighting and the classmates did not dare to mess with him.
In the way, the three of us became inseparable best friends and went to school together every day.
I also gradually fell in love with the man who would help me settle everything, and we naturally came together.
After graduation, I announced to my father that I was going to marry Tim, but he strongly opposed it.
"My dear daughter, there are so many good men, but why do you have to be with this punk? He's only after your money!
"I have found a suitable partner for you. How about you meet him? He is definitely more reliable than that punk."
But I didn't believe what my father said. I thought he was too stubborn. I had grown up and didn't want an arranged marriage. So I ran out of the house and ran to Tim in the heavy rain.
"Tim, if I am not rich anymore, will you still be with me?"
Tim took a towel and gently dried my hair. His eyes were full of pampering.
"Of course, my princess."
I just indulged in his sweet words, and without the support of my family, we hastily got married.
The wedding was hastily organized. Tim lost his parents when he was young. He had no money, so all he could give me was a cheap plain ring and a rented tattered wedding dress.
But I was happy with it, and I believed that being able to endure hardships together was what love was.
Finally, my father couldn't bear to see me suffer anymore, so he had to accept Tim.
He also arranged Tim to work in his company and constantly promoted and trained him. Tim gradually changed from a punk who knew nothing to a good son-in-law and good leader praised by everyone.
In the way, our life gradually got better. Tim's meticulous love for me also made my father ease up on him.
I even boasted to my father about Tim being nice to me, buying me new clothes and cooking for me.
"Well. If he can always love you like this, I won't say anything."
At that time, I was complacent and thought I was the happiest woman in the world. I had a husband who loved me and a best friend I could talk to. All I had to do every day was eat good food and have fun.
But I ignored the unremitting sadness and pain in my father's eyes.
I didn't know that while I was indulging in my illusory happiness, my best friend had become my husband's personal secretary.
The wind was howling outside. I lay on the bed in a daze and tears blurred my eyes.
"Boom—"
Thunder rumbled, and I curled up unconsciously, clutching the sheets tightly.
At that time, a familiar voice came.
"Don't be afraid, Sally. I'm here."
Tim was back.
Just as dawn was approaching, he hugged me with his whole body, using the most intimate posture to make me feel secure and stop my body from trembling.
He knew that I had always been afraid of thunder.
But apart from his gentle actions, I could even smell the faint scent of perfume on him.
——It was Dora's favorite rose scent.
I forced a bitter smile, pretended to be in a dream, and resisted to break away from his arms.
Tim thought I was restless in my sleep and patted my face lovingly.
"You still have so much strength even when you are asleep. So cute."
Then I heard him undressing, and then my side sank. The sound of his breathing came.
I didn't know how to face him, so I turned sideways with my back to him and quietly shed tears.
The night was too long.
