My Alpha Rejected Me for His Fake Pregnant Luna Novel Cover

My Alpha Rejected Me for His Fake Pregnant Luna

At 10:14 on a Tuesday night, Dallas shattered our mate bond in front of two hundred wolves. For months I had held the Silverfang alliance together, negotiating every clause and settling territorial disputes through fourteen rounds of talks while he sent his regrets. Then, in the heels Lucy forced on me, I finally smiled—until my Alpha walked to the center of the great hall and chose another. His fake pregnant Luna. The bond that was mine to claim snapped before every watching wolf, and the crowd went silent. Betrayal, power, and a werewolf romance where nothing stays buried.

Chapter 2

I woke to white walls and the scent of healing herbs.

Not the sharp, chemical smell of Maren's clinic. Something older. Earthier. Like someone had crushed sage and moonflower and let them steep in clean water.

My hand went to my stomach first. Flat. Whole. No blood.

The pup.

"Steady heartbeat," a voice said from my left. "Both of you."

I turned my head. A Lycan healer stood beside the bed, her hands folded at her waist. She was older, gray-streaked hair pulled back in a braid, and her eyes were the kind of steady that came from seeing too much to be shocked by anything.

"How long?" My voice came out hoarse.

"Three days since Prince Silas brought you in. The hemorrhage was severe. We had to use Lycan healing methods to stabilize the pup. Your wolf helped. She's stronger than she should be, given the bond damage."

Lyra stirred at the mention. Not the collapsed, screaming thing she'd been under the beam. Alert. Watchful.

I pushed myself up. Pain flared across my shoulders where the beam had hit, but it was manageable. Healing.

"The pup is viable," the healer continued. "No permanent damage. But you'll need rest. And no shifting for at least two weeks."

I nodded. My throat was tight.

Then I smelled it.

Wild pine and black iron. The same scent that had cut through the dust and debris when I was pinned. The scent that had carried me here.

I turned toward the door.

Silas stood at the outer edge of the room. Not leaning against the wall. Not sitting. Just standing, hands loose at his sides, watching me with an expression I couldn't read.

The mate-pull hit me like a second bond snapping taut.

It was nothing like what I'd felt with Dallas. That bond had been slow, built over months of proximity and shared meals and late-night conversations. This was immediate. Certain. Like my wolf had been waiting for this scent her entire life and had only just remembered.

Lyra surged. Not in pain. In recognition.

I pressed my fingertips to my neck. The mark Dallas had never given me was still cold. Dead. But the space around it was warming, filling with something I didn't have a name for.

Silas didn't move closer.

"You're awake," he said quietly.

"I am."

Silence stretched between us. The healer glanced at Silas, then at me, and stepped toward the door. "I'll be outside if you need anything."

She left.

I sat up fully, ignoring the way my shoulders protested. Silas's eyes tracked the movement but he didn't step forward to help. Didn't offer his hand.

I appreciated that more than I could say.

"Thank you," I said. "For bringing me here. For saving the pup."

"You don't owe me thanks."

"I do."

His jaw tightened slightly. "You don't."

I studied him. He was tall, broad-shouldered, with dark hair and eyes that looked black in the low light. His presence filled the room without crowding it. There was something about the way he stood—still, but not tense—that made me think of deep water. Calm on the surface. Unknowable underneath.

The mate-pull tugged again. Warmer this time.

I shoved it down.

"I need to be clear about something," I said.

Silas waited.

"I will raise my pup alone. I owe no wolf my loyalty. And I do not want another mark."

The words came out flat. Final.

Silas didn't flinch. Didn't argue. He just looked at me for a long moment, and then he nodded.

"Understood."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a key. He set it on the bedside table, the metal glinting under the soft light.

"There's a residence on Crescent territory," he said. "Private. Quiet. It's yours. Whether you ever open the door to me or not."

I stared at the key.

"You're giving me a house."

"I'm giving you a door that locks from the inside," Silas said. "What you do with it is your choice."

He turned toward the exit. Stopped. Looked back.

"If you need anything—anything—my Beta knows where to find me."

Then he left.

I sat in the silence, staring at the key on the table.

Lyra was pacing now. Not agitated. Not distressed. Just... awake. More awake than she'd been in years.

I picked up the key. It was warm from Silas's pocket.

I set it back down.

---

Three days into my recovery, the heat started.

It wasn't pain. Not exactly. It was deeper than that. My bones ached in a way that had nothing to do with the beam or the hemorrhage. My skin felt too tight. My senses, already sharpened since the rejection, continued to sharpen beyond anything I could explain.

I could hear the Lycan guards talking two floors down. I could smell the difference between the herbs in my tea and the ones growing in the courtyard outside. I could feel Lyra pressing against the inside of my skin with an urgency that felt ancient.

Something was waking up.

I didn't tell the healers.

Instead, I ran.

Dawn came early on Crescent territory. I slipped out of the medical wing before anyone could stop me, pulled on the training clothes someone had left folded at the foot of my bed, and ran until my lungs burned and the heat in my bones settled back down to a simmer.

The cold air helped. The movement helped more.

Lyra didn't howl. She paced. She waited.

I ran every morning after that.

---

On the third night, someone knocked on my door.

I was sitting at the small desk in my residence—Silas's residence, technically, though I was trying not to think of it that way—reading through a copy of the Luna Accord that the Crescent Throne's archives had provided.

The knock was quiet. Careful.

I opened the door.

Silas's Beta stood in the hallway, holding a sealed envelope.

"This arrived this morning," he said. "Addressed to the Crescent administration. Prince Silas thought you should see it before any official response was drafted."

I took the envelope. The wax seal was Ironclad's. Dallas's.

I broke it open and read.

The letter was formal. Polite. And absolutely enraging.

Dallas was demanding my return. Not as his mate—he'd severed that bond in front of two hundred wolves. As Ironclad property. Under Alpha jurisdiction.

He didn't mention the pup.

I read the letter twice. Then I set it on the desk, very carefully, and asked the Beta for a copy of the Luna Accord.

He brought it within the hour.

I spent the next two nights reading.

The Luna Accord was old law. Older than most packs. It governed mate bond severances, territorial disputes, and the rights of a Luna who had been rejected.

It also had a provision I'd never seen invoked.

If a Luna could prove she had personally negotiated alliances or territorial gains during her tenure, and if the rejection was formal and public, she could reclaim those concessions.

Every alliance. Every treaty. Every territorial agreement.

I pulled out a notebook and started making a list.

Seven years. Fourteen alliances. Three major territorial expansions.

All of it mine.

I pressed my fingertips to the cold mark on my neck and smiled.
